Dead Battery!?

I have a 2007 tsx and this morning my dad wanted to drive my car but said the battery was dead. I don't know whats going on it only has about 2300 miles on it (bought on July 23, 2007) should I be worried about it!?!??!? What should I do in a situation like this!? Is this because I don't drive it enough?? Thanks for the help guys. also if this is a big problem, does the warranty cover something like this?

Your car is under warranty - the dealer will replace it for free.

Try again....if it doesn't work, then jump start it.

Stock Battery is shlt. Replace it w/ Optima RT or YT, it's important especially if you live in colder area. If you car is one of your collection in your garage and don't driven often, use a 12V battery charger to charge it before you start.

Either your battery was defective or you left a light on and drained it. No amount of sitting drains a battery that new. I would take it to the dealer however - see what they say.

I just started the car, it's seems to be working fine again, but If this problem shall arise again then I'll take it to the dealers. =/ Although, it did kind of take long to start. Well longer than expected.

May sound like a stupid question, but did your Dad do something else that may have prevented it starting? Like is it a MT and he didn't have the clutch in? I only ask because if the battery was truly dead, unless someone jumped it or charged it, you should not have been able to start it.

I have an 08 with only about 2,000 miles on it. When I came back from Christmas vacation (took the SUV on vacation),it was dead. After only 3 days of sitting in the garage. Had roadside jump it, and no problems since. Had the dealer check it out and they found no problems.

Sometimes car batteries regain charge after sitting for a while. I was a cart boy at a golf course for years and realized that after some carts' charge went up a lot from just sitting around unplugged (they're powered by 6 car batteries).

It's an automatic lol. I think he jump started it. He didn't go into detail about what happened, but I wish he did.

i have a 2006 TSX that i bought in December 2005. The car has slightly less than 40,000 miles on it, and the battery is drained. the dealership is replacing it under warranty.

can i get something other than the stock battery? i don't think i have a choice here, and would rather a free one and then get the better one down the road. i live in new jersey as far as climate. not freezing, but gets chilly in the winter.

The new stock ones they're putting in have more Cold Crank Amps than the ones they were putting in until very recently. It will be better but still not fantastic. You won't have a choice under warranty but it should be fine for a few more years.

I have an appt. to get a new battery this weekend. Mine is dead and I have to jump it no less than twice a week. I even put it on a trickle charger for 24 hrs.... still won't take a charge. The CCA are only 410 on stock battery. I know riding lawn mowers that have more than that. The real pisser is that they blamed my auto start for a "Parasitic drain" But it still dies after I shut the auto start off. This battery is crap!

That's a used up battery alright. I think the new battery I got is 500 CCA.

i got a question about this. will they only replace it if they see that its a defect or will they also replace it free of charge if the battery is dead due to just using the alot without the engine being on? i ask because i too have been having some problems(10k miles 07). like even if i just stick my key in the key hole and let the odo light up for about a min, i cant start my car; i have to jump start it. im not sure if its the alternator or if its the battery. is all this under warranty? i am soo broke these days that i want to stay away from buying a new battery or w/e

Sounds like you definitely have a problem. Take it to your dealer and explain what's happening. You might want to leave the map lights on in the car while you're in talking to the service adviser (accidentally of course). If the battery is as weak as you say, it will be dead by the time you go to leave or the service adviser comes out to look at the car. They can load test the battery and check the charging system. Assuming the battery fails the load test, they should replace it under warranty.
