Conversion to single exhaust -bumper plug available

For those that converted to single exhaust such as J's Racing, I've helped some bros at TSX forum get the bumper plug to fill up the unused side. Comes PRE-PAINTED from the factory so you gotta know the color code of our car! Comes without the two bumper clips.

Yr 03-05 has a different plug from 06-08 models. This is an official HONDA part.

Looks like this:

For those who converted to a single muffler and tip. If you look at our exhaust, it's already a single exhaust that splits into two mufflers and tips, so you can't convert a single exhaust to a single exhaust.

Hi I meant a single muffler on one side such as J's Racing.

Any idea if this is available for a 2007 Accord?

Is this a US part #?

Because it gives a superior power gain compared to dual exhaust. Also, why have 2 mufflers when there are only 4 cylinders and 1 pipe going almost all the way back ?

wrong, there has been no dyno proof of a single exhaust on a TSX generating more horsepower than a dual exhaust of equal diameter. Dyno's have shown that an exhaust (other than hytech which is dual mind you) show gains of 3 - 5 horsepower at the wheel.

The performance reason for single vs dual would be weight savings and the main reason would be visual preference.

There is a thread about it on the "other forum". People with J's racing's exhaust (70MM) say they gained 15-21 WHP. Apparently there IS a proof.

Eventually someone will dyno a dual v. single setup and I'm relatively confident there will be performance benefits (aside from weight savings) to going single-exit. I'm going single down the road... I like the look, and it's just not intuitive to run a dual exit on an I4. Acura did it for looks, plain and simple.

I think that's the J's 70RR, which is a full race exhaust (ie no cat, bolts right up to JDM header). The 60RS (single exit titanium exhaust) probably doesn't gain 15-21WHP, but will fit with our USDM cat+header, which is a plus.

J's 70RR is a full race header with no cat and I don't even think it has a resonator and I believe requires a JDM header. So for all practical purposes that does not apply.

from what i recall, the plug will only fit the OEM bumper right? it can't be used if you have the OEM or euro-r lip?

i'm also considering a single outlet exhaust just b/c of the edge it would have on the dual, the weight savings and it's different.

thanks for clarification, Audioserf. Even if 60mm exhaust gives ~10HP at the wheels and saves even 20 lbs of weight, its more worth the money than dual cat-backs which give.... 3? 5? WHP and weigh roughly the same. Pricewise, decent JDM dual exhaust system costs ~$1000, so price dowsnt make much of a difference. I also double the opinion about having i4 engine, single exhaust pipe and 2 mufflers being a poser's thing.

Anyone got any opinions about 5zigen's single exhaust?

I'm running a Tanabe MT exhaust, which is a dual, and I love the look and the sound of it... but the 5Zigen Pro Racer A-Spec is my ideal catback. I love the look of it, and the sound, and the weight savings can't hurt either. I plan to order it at some point.

Tanabe MT is my favorite dual cat-back for TSX. Looks close to stock, not loud, excellent note. I also like 5zigen a-spec exhaust, but I want to go custom with either mugen twin loop muffler because of its small tip or HKS carbon Ti muffler. HKS muffler gives oustanding sound and pretty good looks. Mugen is PRICY. Muffler alone is $500+

Apparently the part number is 71504-SEA-000.

Search google and use the following search terms. You'll find a link to a similar post by ivtec2002 on another tsx forum.

That is one of the mods I would want. Just one pipe then plug the other side. The only other thing would be a custom bumper so you dont see the little outline of the plug.
