Contemplating chaging from CL to TSX...

So the local Acura dealer has an 05 TSX 6 speed they are trying to push for the big end of the month thing. Its got 75k on it and is in pretty good shape. owned by a navy guy previously. no mods. Asking price until the 1st is $12k..... pretty reasonable I think? KBB pre-owned certified is $16k. I have an 01 CLS and they will give me 2k for mine so thats roughly 10k plus the difference on what I owe on my car of a little over $3,300. so we will say 14,500 out the door for 4 years. What do you guys think?

Assuming the car is in good condition, it sounds like a good deal, (the same deal someone here got recently, and his brother was the sales manager at the dealership.) Of course I wouldn't compare it to a Certified car for pricing, because it isn't (and does not have the 100K warranty), and I believe a car with 75K miles cannot be sold as certified.

I would sell your CL on your own. If it's in decent shape, you can get more than $2K.

Around $12K might not be bad, but at $14K+, the flaw is you'll still be under water (how'd that happen to begin with by the way?). I guess I'm showing my age, but gees.... what happened to 20% down?

how many miles do you have on your CL? I recently traded in my 03 TL with 110K miles for 5,500. Therefore picked up my TSX for 16,500 with 41K miles and after trade in, 11,000 is how much my loan is. But overall, from what you're saying, that it's actually a pretty good deal since its a 6spd.

Unless your trade is beat I think theres at least another $1000 they are keeping. Ps I upgraded from a 03 CL S 6 speed & love everything about the TSX except the power... i want 2 more cylinders but the TSX is an overall awesome car & you will enjoy it... GOOD LUCK

Also that deal seems ok, but try & get the price a little lower or bring up your trade. I STOLE a 2006 6 speed non navi for 12,900 (price @ dealer was 16,500) it was spotless one owner with NO paintwork, I did pay $300 over cost because it was my Brothers Dealership...

Tough choice. I used to have an SMR 01 CL Type-S until an Asian lady destroyed it. And now I have an 04 TSX. So I have experience with both of them.

Pros of CL over TSX:
Faster (especially if Type-S)
Memory Seats
V6 sounds amazing and is fast

Pros of TSX:
Looks better (I think)
Defiantly not as fast, but WAY better gas mileage
Navi is better
More airbags

Overall their pretty much the same car expect for looks and engine size. I loved my CL and TSX, so either would be a great choice. But if I were you I would go for the TSX since its newer and you can have fun modding it!!

And you can get way more than 2K for your CL. Mine had 165k miles (type-s and navi) and I bought it for 8k (including tax). When it was totaled in September, I got 8k back from insurance. I then spent an extra $1,000 to buy the TSX. In other words, definitely sell your TSX privately. You'll get a lot more money from it.
