Comptech Shifter

i just ordered the comptech short shifter for $59 plus 8 for shipping. they said it will be here next sometime next week. does anyone know how long it will take to install and about how much it will cost?

Not to flame you but, "Buy first, ask questions later!!!" My guess is 1hr shop labor and that is usually a rate of $40-$50 per hour. Enjoy the short shifter... we expect comments back about how it well it performs.

Install it yourself. Removal of the center tunnel cover is easy. Since the TSX is a cable shifter the install is way easier then a Civic or Teg which requires you to be under the car.

Only $59? What a deal.

But that makes me wonder: for that price, will it make the actual shifts shorter or just the shifter LEVER just be shorter?

Install it yourself. It's very easy. Save yourself the money. I can get you the how-to if you want it. In addition to that I can also sell you a set of shifter bushings (they're cheap) for it that a friend of mine had CNC-ed at a machine shop to improve your shift feel.
