Anyone know the bulbs for the glove compartment and the trunk? Those are the only two I need to have the interior totally done and I want to get it over with finally. Thanks!

Glove box is a #74 type bulb and the trunk is a 168/194 wedge style.

Im trying to replace my white Back up lights (which is 7440 stock), by a brighter LED bulb from www.superbrightleds.com
Can anyone advise if Im looking at the right replacement:

7440-15 LED bulb "has 9 LEDs aiming out the end and 6 radially mounted LEDs aiming 90 degrees from the base"
or
7440-xHP3 LED bulb "Our brightest 7440 bulb,3 High Power LEDs, Wide 120 degree Viewing Angle"

If it is the right replacment I will get the 7440-xHP3 LED bulb any input

I have thier regular 7443-15 led Red as my break lights. I had the 7449xHP3 in red but I did not think they were brighter than the 15led. Looking at the lights head on I could see the power of the HP3 but I though the 15 Led did a better job of lighting up the whole housing.

Just my 2 Cents

I hope the Luxeons will be even brighter since they have 130 Degree dispusrement

Led

I am placing my order for LEDs I just need to confirm. Am I supposed to purchase the tail light bulbs and the stop lights bulbs in White? or Red?
Does it matter if I get them in red?

I believe it’s recommended to get them in red. When you use white or any other color, any color other than red will be filtered by the red lens. So in theory you could have a different color light, brighter than a red light if put side by side, but when put behind a red lens it would look dimmer since red light is the only light that is not filtered by the red lens. That's what I remembered from reading more posts than I care a couple of years ago .

is it me or is the Festoon 3022x4 not bright enough for the dome lights?? Can anyone recommend one with more than 4 LED dots?

By the way, does anyone know how to remove the two plastic covers holding the two front dome lights?

Already been discussed in the 17 pages, but for review....

Wrap electrical tape around a thin flat head screw driver.
Pry them out carefully from a corner.

Yep... its that simple.

For all those people our there who are planning on purchasing the led stop lights be warned that it probably won't disperse the light in the housing. A few months ago I was behind a Ford F-150 with them and all that I could see is a red light the size of a quarter on that housing. I can tell you that if someone ends up hitting your car and you have these on that you could be held at fault for not having proper lighting. I doubt that these are even street legal. Be warned.

The 6 LED Super High Flux LEDs from autolumination are insanely bright for the two map lights. Fine for the single rear dome in the back, but blinding for the front occupants because they're right in their faces. Plus, don't even try turning them on while driving! I switched to 1 LED Super High Flux and, except for them being a hair more purple, have been perfectly satisfied.

The gear shifter light can be replaced with a
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-...38.2376&next=50
scroll down until you see:
74-xHP Wedge Base LED Bulb

Problem is it needs to be glued in or taped down into the socket. since its a bit larger.
The white led i did lights up the shifter partially but its better than having it out.
Not as good as i expected but enough to illuminate it
For jdm headlights i replaced my 2 led piaa leds with 194

WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb
12 VDC 5-LED
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...8.2376&next=50

They really light up my jdm corners well. since now they go beyond the clear lens.

did anyone have trouble with the #74 cubby light? i just changed mine to the blue LED bulb over the weekend. it didn't fit as snug as the OEM bulb, and i had to take a few minutes to get the socket back into the housing and twist. i think the bulb from superbright is just a tad too long, but it's in there now.

i also took the time to change the front driver/passenger door bulbs to blue also. i think the only other thing i may do is the ambient lighting under the dash.

See my notes towards the end of this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39262

I used a regular #74 (nonled) bulb from autolumination, and it looks closer to stock. It was a tight fit, and I almost felt that the glass was going to break...but the look is subtle like the stock incandescent bulb. I tried three replacement #74 bulbs (2 were led's) and all of them were a bit wider and longer than the stock bulb.

Yea the leds don't fit but you just rig it up that it sits in the socket it works.

The footwell lights i got leds from superbrights and used t-taps on the cubby light.

yeah. i think it's a whole bunch of things. the direction of the light, the brightness, and then slit where the light comes through. all of those things combined really limit the light in there.

eh. no big deal. it's not like i could see much in there even with the stock bulb.

I agree john my gear shift light went out so i stuck a same 74 bulb in it. its right now wedged in and hope it stays but it beats having a dark gear shift at night.
