I'd prefer the Blajax from Clifford myself. If you're car jacked you can let the car go then recover it a block away rather then someone forcing you to put in the code and start the car.
3rd down

I've wondered the same thing... they say just hand the car over to the thief without needing any remotes or buttons and it will shut itself down... but how the hell does it "know"?

this only works automatically if theres a gun involved
i guess it can somehow figure out if the person got a gun or not

Shut the car off when you get out. They can start it just fine but after a block or two if they haven't entered the code it will stop them and kill the car.

I know someone that his car and his roomates car stolen. His had blackjax and was recovered in a parking lot just down the street with nothing missing. The other one without was recovered stripped to nothing.

Actually you don't even need to shut the car off. Once the door is opened and closed, the system is triggered, and you have about 30 seconds to enter the code on the keypad. If it is not entered the alarm kills the engine.

anybody have one? I think i want to get it. You think the dealer can install it? I'd hate to see what happens if the alarm malfunctions and turns off your engine when you're driving it...

I wouldn't worry about that any more then I would any other alarm. Chances are low that'd ever happen.

anybody have it? anyone know if the dealers will install it? I should ask if they would before I pick up my car. As much as some people are going to say dealers aren't as good as a regulars or theres no difference...I'd just rather have someone work on the alarm that sees them on a continuous basis...

Even some cheap alarms have an anti-carjack kind of mode. Overkill for me, but thought I'd mention it in case anyone is interested in the security aspects, but is on a budget (unlike Tacobell!).

i like the clifford blajax but i prefer the keypad interrupt

the clifford is good for those who live in places where there are a lot of carjackings but it only works when theres a gun present

i live in jersey city and, contrary to popular beliefs, most of the thefts happen at night when the car is parked

that way, with the interrupt, they cannot jack my car

also, this will prevent my girlfriend or my friends from driving my car while im away

The car has no idea if there's a gun present or not. Everytime the car is started or a door is opened with the engine running, you have to enter in the pin number. If you don't, the system will turn on the alarm and shut of the car a few seconds later.

Manual

This is a picture taken by the person I know that had his car stolen. He is standing where it was parked when it was stolen. The arrow is pointing to his car in the spot it was recovered.

I really wish you could edit posts here that way when you realize you were an idiot and forgot to post a picture you could add it rather then make another post.
