clutch engagement question

i just bought an 04 tsx with 40k miles about 2 weeks ago from a honda dealer.
over the last 2 weeks i have noticed that at start up and first few minutes of driving the engagement point is about where it should be but after the car warms up the clutch engages at about the half way point. i have never experienced this with past honda/acura manual tranys. i know i have the infamous clutch master cylinder creak which im going to get fixed but have not read anything about any one having similar problems as mine.
has any one else experienced this? im new to the tsx so im not sure if this is normal but it doesnt seem normal.
thanks

hmmm, I haven't had any problems and I bought mine the exact same way you did. I've had mine about 2 months and it was an 04 with 40,000. the clutch is taking some getting used to but I haven't noticed any change like that...maybe I just don't pay attention that close

You said the engagement point changes but you didn't say which way.

Must be a worn clutch. It's getting higher because as the clutch heats up, it requires more pressure to hold.

Did you buy CPO or as-is?

See if you can uncover the vehicle's repair history - the Honda dealer might be able to help.
This might give a clue or two ...

Given that you didn't know what CPO is, I'm guessing you didn't go that route. Get ready to spend some cash I guess.

40K miles with a worn clutch? Blimey, that's some ferocious (or clueless) driving from the ex-owner. On my Euro Accord diesel the clutch slipped when I bought it at nearly 90k, but that was replaced under warranty. 90k for a clutch is still quite poor - most cars do at least 140k before it needs a replacement. Is the clutch in the TSX/Euro Accord really pants or something? I also had a clutch creak, which I resolved by applying some grease to the master cylinder pin.

Dealers usually include a 50/50 parts and labor warrantee on used cars. If this one needs a new clutch, the selling Honda dealer might cough up half. Worth checking out.
