Well yesterday and today cleveland got about 8-12 inches of snow and the roads were A MESS. I have to say this TSX really handled amazingly! It just seems to LOVE SNOW, even though I hate it because my car is FILTHY!!!! The sport shift seemed EXTRA useful becauseI could shift back and forth from 2 and 3 and the car would take off, yet seem stuck to the road when I would downshift. The VSA kicked in a few times and really seemed to work well too! I have the original tires on the car (3500miles on them) and they seemed to grip pretty well!!
the TSX is great!!!
the heated seats are a gift from the G.O.D!!!, but i wish i had an 05 with heated mirrors...but i'll live
finally did you know that if you pull the parking break when driving (obviously did this in the snow to swing the ass end out when going around a bend) that a buzzzzz goes off inside the car....just a little beeping sound....
man this car is fun to drive in ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS!!! I just hope the salt and stone chips dont happen to my car....please pray...

It is. There are more expensive alternatives (Mg, Ca etc) but I would bet most cities use the cheapest method.

funny, I was driving in a snowstorm on the other side of lakeerie on Sunday and almost went off the road in 1" of snow. Had no control over my car as it edged toward the ditch while I was in the passing lane (going about 70km/hr). The road had a slight crown and it seemed to push me toward the ditch. I was afraid of fishtailing when the tires finally bit, but the car stabilized. I have 29,000km on my tires, so there is lots of tread. I was scared shitless. My traction control light went off more in 30 minutes than in the entire life of the car. Very very poor handling in snow.
I think people living in snowbelts need snow tires or those funky new studs that ha ve come out in Scandanavia.

My last car was a corolla and it handled better in snow than the TSX.I had to drive because I was at work....and the MAJOR snow started to fall at about 2pm...i left work at 430pm and there was a good 6 inches on the ground...took 2 hours to get home from work which made it about 8 inches+ on the ground.
A car in snow is ONLY as good as the driver.....so if your TSX isn't doing well....go out and mess around in a SNOWY parking lot and really learn how to drive in the snow.

I think some cities use Ca2Cl2 and other alternatives for environmental reasons. Originally Posted by jcg878

I believe Durham doesn't even bother; we just shut down.

What makes you think people don't know how to drive in snow. I have been doing so for 29 years, and this is the worst car I have ever had in snow. I have never had a winter accident, but the weekend was close. This car is great on dry pavement, but it is dangerous on snow with OEM tires.Originally Posted by bgillette

I am also in Cleveland, and I totally agree with bgillette that my TSX has handled the snow extremely well! I really cannot complain at all. The window defroster also worked very well.
Now that I have said it, have I jinxed myself for the rest of the long, snowy Cleveland winter? LOL!
