Clear "Bra" for TSX

New member here..... Great site with lots of useful info.

I'm just about ready to purchase a new 2006 TSX (Deep Green Pearl with Parchment Interior, Auto Trans, No Nav system). Today, at the dealership, I saw that they offer a clear coating on the front of the vehicle, similar to an Auto "Bra" to protect against stones, pebbles, road debris, etc. It seems to be applied with some kind of adhesive and is perfectly clear - hardly noticable at all. It covers the entire front of the vehicle, including headlights, front of hood and even the front of the sideview mirrors.

I don't have the pricing on it, but was wondering whether this would be a worthwhile option. Are there drawbacks, such as uneven color deterioration, yellowing, damage to underlying paint if/when removed, etc?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I'm thinking "Search". Clear bras have been covered in numerous threads. Too lazy to point them out right now.

Thanks for the links and the pix, guys.

It looks to me to be a good investment. I'll have to check the dealer's price on it and include it as part of the overall price negotations for the car.

From what I've seen in various pix, it looks to me like any line is less visible on a darker color (like the Dark Green Pearl that I'll be ordering.)

My front bumper looks like an over-rippened orange, from all the bugs and rocks it hit at freeway speeds. It's very noticeable on a black car. I would recommend looking into the clear-bra if you are shopping for a dark-colored car.

The brand that the dealerships offer is AutoBahnd. Rather than research the validity of whether or not clear bra type paint sealants are worth it, (we all know they are, hehehe) I would research brands. You may be able to get this done yourself for the same price or less, and get a more reliable brand. My

I think that the dealerships do not have one consistent brand. For example, in the Pac N/W, one dealer offers 3M and another offers no plastic clear bra... instead they offer armorcoat, an additional clear-coat.
