Cleaning the parcel shelf(hat rack)

So this afternoon my wife was cleaning up her Arctic blue TSX and she noticed some lint on the parcel shelf. She tried vacuuming it before and that didn't work, so she got her clothes lint brush, and brushed all the lint off. Anyone else ever do this?

See ya!
Mike

i think the person is talking about the little area behind the rear passengers head, if you search parcel shelf on google images you get a bunch of images showing that area

I think Sw33t has got it right...it's the tray behind the rear seats that has the speaker covers on them.

Part # for ref. 84501-SEA-003ZA (black).

how can you guys think that the "hat rack" was outside of the car? I think for most, it'd be called the stuffed animal rack ;-P

Guess times have changed a little. When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's the area between the rear seat and the back glass was called the hat rack, mostly because thats where people's hats ended up at. Now, OEM's call that area the parcel shelf and I just took it for granted that people would know what that is. I was just wondering how people clean that area of the car or if they even do. My wife was annoyed by it collecting white pieces of lint and it being hard to clean off, so she started using her lint brush on it. But anyway.....

Good idea. I noticed mine was getting a bit on the dusty side. I'll have to try that with a lint roller. Thanks for the tip!
