Question Clarification: Optima RT35 or RT34

Hello everyone,

When I get my TSX, I plan on replacing the battery because of the climate I am in (Canada)....plus I'd like to replace it and forget about it for a while . After searching the forum, it appears that the Optima RT35 would suit my needs. Does anyone have an info on the RT34? It has more CCA but is a bit larger...would it fit without modification, or am I better off just getting the RT35?

Also stupid question, but the RT35 has the - terminal on the left and + on the right, meaning that it will have to be placed 'upside down' in the engine bay....is this a big deal? This is why I was also looking at the RT34 since it has opposite terminals.

Sorry for the stupid questions, but I did search and found info, but I just want some clarification!

Thanks!

The RT35 has the correct terminal orientation - same as the oem battery. You do need to remove the oem battery box in order to fit the RT35 though.

If you didn't get the battery yet you should look into Sears Diehard gold series. They are probably alot cheaper and just as reliable. I've never understood the optima craze. I thought it was made to be tough for off road purposes.

Are the Optima batteries lighter than oem batteries?

Braille batteries are relabeled Deka batteries. The Deka batteries cost about half of the Braille. http://www.tristatebattery.com/produ...roducts_id=975
