newb questions ...i noticed the aux input in my armrest bin, obviously it's a minijack and not RCA.

the way i had my ipod connected through my other car is:

ipod --> belkin autokit --> miniplug-to-RCA --> head unit.

i liked this because i could unplug the mini plug and connect it to other inputs (laptop, dvd, etc)


so if the aux input works already, could i get the same result with the following:

ipod-->belkin-->mini-to-mini --> aux input?

why is it necessary to get the blitzsafe AUX setup? is it because the existing AUX input isn't connected or isn't as good as RCA?

 

you dont need anything else than a mini to mini for any device on the 06. those blitzsafe things and all that are for the 04-05

if thats true, i feel pretty stupid at this point. The dealer wanted me to pay $600 for the ipod connection, i turned that down knowing that the blitzsafe things existed

but if all i need is to plug my thing in, i'm very happy.

Wow, thats really good to know. Stupid dealers always trying to rip people off! I do realize that everyones gotta make a living, but how can they live with themselves sometimes

 

the 1/8" mini aux input for the 06 was marketed as for the ipod. i can fathom how a dealer would want you to buy a 600 dollar aux input for a 2006 TSX when all you need is a mini to whatever cord for you device that you want to listen to
