Talking Cl Type S Vs Tsx

recently saw a TL vs TSX post.thought i might put in my own experience..
i have had Integra. 2.2 CL. 3.0 CL. and most recently. a 2001 3.2CL type S. .currently with 04 TSX.
differenes? CL-S has much more power. and is especially fast toward high end. but around city driving and off the line...TSX is much more agile and get off the line faster during city driving. Gotta give straight line acceleration to CL type S no doubt. However....during cornering and that sunday drive on the twisty country road.. or just cruising... TSX is wayyyyyyy more agile and handle much much better..
Quality? TSX is the hands down winner compare to CL-S. I love the BMW/AUDI like XENON light on TSX...the interior lighting... that aluminum color dash. fit and finish on the TSX far surpass those dull and plasticky feeling CL-S gave.

Sound system? CL-S 's hundred watt BOse audio is clean and nice...but comes with that dull base..and much less base than the 360watts TSX. TSX wins again!

Gas price aint even a discussion here.. i have a lead foot...i constantly get 16-18 MPG on CL-S. whereas i get 21-23 on TSX... used to have to gas up the CL every 5 days.. TSX give me solid 2 more days of driving time...gas saving will pay off eventually!

TSX just gives that feeling you are wrapped around just right. not big. not small.. just like a designer suit that wraps around you. giveyou a secure feeling and come on... it just look sbetter. that wheelbase with the wheels position toward outer 4 corner of the car...there has been more than once where i pull into a car shop. or other places where people mistaken me as bimmer 3 series at a glance....not to bash TSX...but bimmer does look nice (with a considerable jump in price tag)

CL is big. comfy...but for los angeles traffic.. especially i work in downtown..TSX is

VERDICT! TSX WINS BY OVERWHELMING MARGIN! its still kinda early when i post this...hope this helps.......by the way.. did i fail to mention the TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! freaknig transmission failure from my CL-S? its a freaking scary experience in fast traffic and your car just cease to move.....

hope this posting is useful to anyone that finds it to be

You should post a copy over in CL 2G in the CLS vs TSX debate thread.

A siad my two cents and haven't even looked back at that thread for responses since. i think i'm resigned to the fact that some people think power is everything and base all their car buying decisions with it as teh highest priority. = not me

I agree 100%. I miss the power that my CL had sometimes, but that's all I miss about it (maybe the sound also) .

It seems like its been years since anyone's celebrated 5000.

But as they say, quality over quantity and mansauce is a great example of that.

I know. Maybe I'll pull a Provench. Get a TL and then never again show my face in the TSX boards

BTW - The wife has pretty much squashed any hope I had of another car so its TSX for the forseeable future. Now I just have to convince her that Hondata is needed.

I'm taking the everything needs "upgrading" appraoch. Hasn't worked so far but she's cracking.

She needs to give at least some compromise in. If she's gonna "confine" you in the TSX, you need to enjoy yourself at least somewhat, no?

Provench = colateral damage

Speaking of that, I've noticed that a few times lately, I've had seen cars (oncoming traffic) with headlights that were so blinding, and I started cursing to myself "one of those BMW/Audi idiots again....", and then later realized it was a TSX....... Now I understand why those 'idiots' still flash their high beams at me even though HIDs are common nowadays.

You don't have a rear sway bar yet do you?

I'll make sure take a picture for you with my canon camera in my new IS.

No, Honda parts not cheap! Civic, Accord, TL parts are cheap but not TSX, Prelude, RSX, S2000...etc. So if the Honda is made in Japan, its parts won't be cheap. The parts of my old prelude actually were more expensive than BMW. But how often you need parts for your Honda? I only need to replace the brake pad and rotor once on my 100000km prelude but, I already on my 4th set of rotors and pads on my 70000km bmw and also how about the O2 sensor, cam sensor, vanos, valve, air pump, control arm, window regulator, transmission, sunroof, cd player....etc that I need to replace on my 4 yr old BMW!

No, actually, that is the most recent one, I meant on 2005 only! already can't remember what have been replace the past 4 yr! I just have my car back for its 3rd tranny replacement due to a little broken spring inside the tranny that suppose to spring the shifter back to netural. The spring is only cost $4 but no one in N.A. will able to replace it so the solution is to replace the whole tranny!

thanks for the Post I was debating between Cl and TSX but after seeing a TSX up close and hearing about the handling and gas savings Im sold. Plus I have owned 3 hondas I will say this parts might cost a little more but once you replace things in the honda they susually never break agaian or at least for a long while. Honda/acura reliability top notch only one i see have better is toyota and lexus not badd company to be in

does the tsx really handle better then the CL-S? i've never driven a CL but i'd assume the 2 door would be made to handle better..
