Cingular Blackjack Compatibility with tsx?

Does anybody in the forum owns a blackjack? Could you plz tell me whether it is compatible with 06 tsx's handsfreelink?

I checked the HFL website and they don't have this phone featured. When i called, the customer rep told me that they have not tested this phone yet..

TIA

I don't currently have the Blackjack, but I did test one out back in December with my 06 TSX. It works, makes calls, receives calls, etc... but it does not display battery or signal strength. I had the phone less than 24 hours, so I didn't really test everything, so YMMV.

I'm going to be getting one to test out any day now at work, and I will be testing it with my 06 TSX. I too got an email from them saying they had no plans to test it. If it works, I will be ditching my 8125 going with the much thinner and lighter Blackjack.

I think most Cingular phones made by Samsung work but don't display any additional info on the '06 MID (signal strength, battery meter, etc).

I used to own an A707 and my friend owns a D801 - they both worked OK but didn't display any of the aforementioned info. It's up to you how important it is to see the signal/battery meters. For me, I couldn't live without them (which was one of the reasons why I returned the A707...).

I have the Black Jack and it works perfect with my 06 TSX... You might have to pair the phone by having the Black Jack find the HF Link instead of pairing via HF...

Most PDA phones running windows mobile 5.0 will not display battery or signal strength because the bluetooth stack is not a mobile phone stack, but rather a PDA/Computer one. Other than that, it has no problems making and receiving calls.

I just got mine today and had the exact same experience. It only paired when I had the phone look for HFL, but once that was done it works fine.

On the www.handsfreelink.com Blackjack listed as non-compatible. Are you saying that it does work with TSX HFL?

Non-compatible:
- LG CG300
- LG CU400
- Nokia 6682
- Samsung D357
- Samsung D807
- Samsung i607 Blackjack

Yes, it sure does. But as one of the mods earlier pointed out, it is a smartphone so you will see neither battery strength nor signal strength in display. Frankly speaking, I don't need to see these on my car display area. Battery is pretty solid. I use the phone for some heavy web browsing almost 2 hours a day. Even after that, i get a talk time of about 3.5 hours. If you don't surf the web, it would easily be around 5 hours.

No offense to any BJ owners, BJ suffers with battery issues that's why it comes with 2 batteries.

I recently installed Google maps on my phone which shows me live traffic on interstates and major highways which is good to have. Although it is not as sophisticated as looking at live traffic on your navi screen but something is better than nothing at all.
