Only 12,000 mile on a 97 is sick...however the car is ugly as fuck if you ask me. I love Supras, but that one has way too much external crap on it.
Chances are that car will smoke a Ferrari though!

I always wonder how people who bid crazy prices like that justify it afterwards.

No doubt, but for how long? It's not like a 800+hp engine that originally put out less than 300 is going to last long. Remember the old proverb: the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

Forget that though, roll up to a nice restaurant in a Ferrari and see how you are treated compared to rolling up in that riced out Supra.

I'd definately rather tell someone I paid that much for a Ferrari and than much for a Supra... Plus the Ferrari looks better

Anyone who pays more for a riced up Supra than they could have for a Ferrari 360 Modena (especially one with those sweet rims)should be beaten with a stupid stick.

The ferrari would by far be the better investment.

Is the supra even street legal? Would it even pass emissions?

I think all of us would get the ferrari in stead of the supra. I can't understand how you are going to buy a car for that much. The car doesn't even hava warrenty.

As is, probably won't last long at all.

Don't forget, there are always people who have money to burn like that..

Plus I think the car only looks riced out cz of the ugly ass color..
If he gets a different paintjob, it would look MUCH better..

This same car was listed on Carsdirect.com yesterday for only $8900. Needless to say, I was interested, and I emailed the seller. He said he was in Germany, but would sell me the car if I paid freight costs. I emailed him and said I would fly to Germany to see it, and he never responded ;-)

Moral of the story, watch out for scams when buying cars over the internet.

Identical pictures and specs. Same VIN too. He obviously just stole the pictures and specs from the EBay auction (which is probably legit) and tried to pull a scam with them. The Carsdirect listing was pulled shortly after I told the guy I would fly to Germany

800+ hp = time bomb

And of course the Ferrari is a better investment. That much for a supra, albeit an 800+ hp one, is totally not worth it. Especially when the thing had a starting bid of under $50k.

I remember reading about a similar scam from a e-bat seller over at A-CL.com. Someomne was selling a 01 Type R for like 9K us or something. The seller was also located in Europe and never responded to requests when the questions became too suspicious. Someone realized that the pics he was using were again from another E-bay auction. I would'nt be surprised if it was the same guy who TSXHokie dealt with.
Unfortunately, there's one born every minute.

yeah, this scam was reported on honda-tech.com. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=641985

I was recently selling my integra online, and was contacted by a guy name of Jimmy Cole in UK. He offered me my asking price with very little bargain. He said he would pay me with a cashier's check which will be issued/sent by a business associate of his in the US. He told me that the business associate owes him money in the amount greater than the price of my car and then asked me if I could send him the balance when I get the cashier's check. Surely, the cashier's check arrives, but being a paranoid ass that I am, I decide to wait for couple of weeks before I send anything out. I almost sent him the money when, the day after I deposited the cashier's check, I saw that I have available balance of $9900+. But I decided to hold it anyways, because now that he's sent me the money he's not going anywhere if the check is real, and if the check is fake, then I just saved my ass from getting ripped off $6000+.

Surely, about 2 weeks later, BofA withdrew $9900 from my account stating that the deposited item was fraudulent.

If I sent him the money, I would've owed the bank the money that I withdrew.

So be aware of this scam.

Yeah, I'd definately take the 360 over a Supra. Numerous reasons behind that one. One being, it's a Ferrari.

I'll take da hugh yellow-ass ricey Supra. Why?

1. Cuz I got 8 pairs of eyes, just enough for checking all da dumbass meters while I'm drving. It's extremely crucial cuz one of them might be a bomb indicator.

2. It's got plenty of seatings for my buddies. Da spoiler is not there for nothing man. It sits at least 5 happy butts.

3. Look at da Nitro tank. Just look at da f@#king Nitro tank right behind driver seat. This baby is a concord jet to hell.

4. I love rice.
