charged deposit

I put down a deposit on my CC when I had placed the order on my credit card. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I didn't see the charge applied anywhere on any of the statements. I check my CC bill and I have been charged!!!!! What to do? What kind of act is this? Has this happened to anyone?

don't you have receipt from the dealer for the credit card charges?

Who puts deposits down on cars? I have bought several cars, even the ones that are in "demand" and never had I been forced to put a deposit down. People, if anything put down $100.00 that way if you screw up or whatever, you didn't lose much.

If they charged your CC for the deposit, and they forgot to apply it to your sales contract, then talk to the dealer for an immediate reversal to get your $500 back. It was probably a simple oversight.

Your CC should have been charged right after you put the deposit down. When I put mine down, they charged my card right away. When I bought the car the $500 was subtracted from the MSRP.

Since you didn't get the money off the car the dealer owes you.

Dj -- make sure you follow-up. I requested a refund from a dealer and after 2 weeks they still hadn't given me my $$ back. Had to call my credit card co. and American Express had to get them going on it. Had my money back the next day. Thanks AMEX!
