Changing the ATF

Does anyone have a pic of the location of the drain plug? I know it is on the passengers side..do I have to remove the plastic underbody tray to get access to it?

I'll assume you're talking about the automatic transmission. I've read posts of guys just partially removing the tray, but I've found that it works out better if you completely remove it (I have more than one TSX). And the drain bolt really isn't on the passenger side, it just faces that way. Once you remove the tray and get a look at the underside of the transmission, you should be able to identify it without any trouble. It has a square indent to insert a 3/8" drive breaker bar or ratchet to remove it (and I'd suggest replacing the washer on the drain bolt). There is a tool that makes it easier to remove the push pin clips (KD tool #3729), of which there are many holding the tray on. I measured what I drained so I could add the same amount of fluid (approx 3 quarts).

Awesome thanks a lot!

Yeah, it's best to take the whole splash shield out. You can do it with it partially on, but it makes a mess. Make sure you have a long tube to attach to the oil container as the fill hole is deep on the left side of the engine. Can't reach it with just an oil jug.

I think this thread is pretty much dead, but if anyone's listening, I think many (including me) just use the dipstick tube. Much easier and it goes into the same place.
