CF trunk

i was just looking through the site that advertises on acurazine and i found a carbon fiber trunk. i was very surprised to see it because i have never seen it for sale before. anyways i am now seriously thinking of getting the hood and trunk cf. i really like the cf look but is it really worth it? how long does cf last for because i hear that it can tent to chip. and how would i be able to keep that look going on the roof. would it look weird with just a black roof? here;s the site if u wanna check it out.

Your PWP TSX would look hot with a cf hood + trunk to go with your black roof.

CF trunks have been around for this car for years. ViS makes one. I'm not sure about how many other companies do, but they're out there. A few guys on the forums have one. I think user Horro has one on his CGP, and he's a Toronto local so maybe you could take a look at his car (although from what he's posted, he takes it off for the winter months).

maybe some of the vis cf hood/trunk owners can chime in, but the vis cf hood i had on my civic was literally a piece of shit. discolored practically the next day, wasn't rigid at all, and the clamp/bracket that locks onto the car to keep the hood shut simply broke off one day. not trying to discourage you from the purchase, just shop around and be sure that you're getting a quality product

well the only companies that make them is a company in russia, a no name company in maryland, vis racing, and fiber/(fibre?) images. on ebay they have a no name cf hood and trunk in silver cf. i have a cgp so i wouldnt get it, but the weave looks pretty good and the quality looks alright. anybody have experience with them?

I got a VIS hood. Two of them.

When the first one arrived, It had a 3" round disfiguration on the front. It looked like the clearcoat had raised or there was something wrong with the fiberglass. The trim was also in bad shape. There were spiderwebs already and it looked like it was glued on poorly.

I had to send VIS pictures and have the shop manager who ordered it for me bitch them out before they sent another one that was pretty good actually. I had to pay another $80 for shipping, too.

I've heard bad things about VIS hoods and customer service. IF you order one and it turns out to be a piece of junk, get on their ass. Unfortunately, we don't have any other reasonably priced options...

after doing a lot of research from people who have them i hear the vis is decent but not really worth buying. if you live anywhere that gets snow than its not the best idea because you have to take it off during the winter time. and i hear the spacing is good but not great. don't think i will be taking the risk of the cf...
