Hello everyone, so I have not had my tsx foor a while, a 2006 TSX with navi (never worked when I owned it). But now my mom has this car, however before my mom had it my great aunt used it and she somehow glued a really intrusive phone holder on top of the AC vents blocking the radio views. This year due to the sheer weight and wobble of this big phone holder, it cracked the panel and finally broke apart... taking with it part of the top of the plastic in the center dash . Now my mom is trying to fix it with crazy glue, prayers and maybe put some cloth with adhesive on top to hide the cracks and the patchy repair job. I was thinking this might be the chance to upgrade the car to android auto? anyone knows of a reliable android auto kit that replaces the nav ? the nav unit never worked when I owned and I was quoted 600$ to repair it so it stayed like that.
My mom loves the car a lot once I gave it to her, and she wants to fix it and she is doing it but I would love to at least update the TSX With a newer center unit with android auto as long as the other functions (the buttons for the recytcle, ac temps, etc) work . My search only took me to an alibaba link but it says fits honda inspire 2006-2008 and on parenthesis acura tsx but my search about the honda inspire of that year brings me a totally different model which would make no sense. ( https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...e660b532f3bd3b ) . We live in the US and the TSX albeit a bit old is still kicking around with some electrical issues (odd drain , makes the car require a jump start after 3 days and no idea why as battery is new and good ). Upgrading the center dash would at least make the car better for my mom too. Broken part glued together under side upper side of the broken part
