CD Player

I discovered this awesome feature for our cd players. It can play CD-RW's. That's awesome!

CD-RW yes, but how about MP3. Now that would be awesome in my book.

Who here has the mp3 player accessory? Does it integrate with the navigation system display?

Sorry to break up the newb love fest but MOST stock stereos can handle cd-r's

As far as the OEM option mp3 player, it does not show track titles or folder names. Basically it acts like a cd-changer. For example, if you put 10 albums all in their own folders, folder 1 is the root of the cd and is treated like disc 1, if there is no files in the root of the cd it goes to the first sub-folder which is disc 2 etc.

You know i was kinda pissed at first about it not displaying the id-3 tags etc, but now that I have a pioneer HU in my other car that does, I really dont mind.

Sorry to make you feel dumb...but I was talking about CD-RW not CD-R. And MOST stock stereos can't handle CD-RW. Most home stereos can't even handle CD-RW.

Well it would take a lot more to make me feel dumb.

Every car stereo I have had hasnt had a problem with either.

My question then is these days why would you use CD-RW's? They cost 5x as much as their cheapest cd-r counterpart, so you would have to re-write 5 times just to make up the cost diff.

It is pretty cool that it reads CD-RW. I have at least 10 CD-RW's laying around, so it will be neat to not waste CD-R's to make a playlist....
