I went to both dealers in STL today and neither one of them had a carbon gray metallic in stock.

When I was looking at the '06 TL, though, I really liked the anthracite metallic. Are these both very similar?

Nope. CGP does not equal Anthracite Metallic.

How would you describe it? I have the '06 brochure here and it appears to have a slight dark blue-ness to it. Is that "Acura-ate"?

Carbon Gray Pearl is a pearlescent paint. That means it has synthesized mother of pearl in it, giving it a softer appearance than metallic paint and will change colors depending upon lighting conditions. The CGP can range in color from blue-gray in bright sunlight to green-gray in dull light. It is also naturally a darker shade of gray.

The Anthracite Metallic is a metallic paint with metal flake in it. It is more of a medium gray.

If you compare the colors next to each other, you'll clearly see the difference.

Is Graphite Pearl in Canada the same color as Carbon Grey in the US?
Is so, I wonder why the names are different.

yeah the graphite is the same as carbon grey. When I was buying my TSX I looked at the US accord coupe and they had the same color as carbon grey pearl and called it graphite.

My dad has an anthracite TL and he always complains that my CGP TSX looks so much better. his anthracite just looks dull next to my paint job.

Agree, the TL Anthracite and TSX CG are not the same. I have a buddy at work who had an Anthracite TL and I park my GC TSX next to him a lot. Side by side, there is a huge difference.

Well if I liked the anthracite I should like the CGP even better then.
