Car Cover Question
Car Cover Question
Hello All:
I just purchased my TSX last week...silver/ebony. Love the
car but it will be parked often at the airport. It's a coastal
location, which means lot's of nightime dew settling on the
car. Add to this the jet exhaust and I think I'd like to cover
the car.
I researched previous threads and car covers and wonder
if anyone would care to comment on the following concerns:
- with the OEM car cover how do you think it would do in
such a climate?
- long term have you found that the OEM cover does not
scratch the paint?
- any alternative to the OEM cover that is recommended?
I've looked at the linked sites, but a personal recommendation
is worth a lot from a satisfied owner.
Thanks for any replies.

I have no problem with long term on my other car. (also acura cover) I store it for the winter so it's a few months. HOWEVER I do detail it first so there's no dirt or dust on it. If you go that route I'd wash the car before you put the cover on.
The only concern I'd have is drawing unwanted attention. If you use a quality sealant it will protect teh paint from the dirt.
It just so happens that the tag that came on the cover said it was made by Kimberly-Clark so you might get it cheaper from them or whoever deals in thier products. They also made the "oem" cover for my g/f's eclipse. http://www.block-it.com/b_home.html

Yep, I have the OEM car cover and there's a tag that says the cover is made with the Evolution line of Kimberly-Clark's fabrics. There's a pdf file I found at www.covercraft.com that compares all the fabrics:

I don't really use the cover often, so I can't really say whether it would be a good buy for you. What I can say is that the cover is pretty bulky, so if you were to get a cover, you might want to take a look at the materials. My friend has a NOAH for his G35 and he's never complained to me about it. Hope that helps.
