I have a stereo from my other car that I wanted to install but couldn't really find any straightforward info on if this can be done. I called Crutchfield and they said it cannot. Navi and CD and stereo are all one unit and you lose controls if you try to replace. Pretty lame.

 

what if you try to run the new headunit through the aux port

what kind of head unit is it?

the TL's headunit is pretty powerful and useful. not sure why you would want to replace it with something else.
