Cancelling the 3 month XM deal with Acura TSX.

Yo everyone...

I got the free XM deal for 3 months when I bought my Acura TSX 2008 couple of months back...just wondering if I have to call someone and cancel it after 3 months? or will it just stop automatically by itself? I don't remember what the dealer told me about this and I couldn't find anything about this in the car manual!!!

Thanks!

I remember losing the signal several times each morning, on my short trip to work. Plus, for my short time in the car in general; was not worth it to me. Yes, they should call you–look for an email, if you are registered on their site. If you haven't given out any credit card info to the dealer, or XM; they will call.

my mom owns a 08 honda accord, bought in March. She received some mail asking her to subscribe to the service and what prices. After the 3month trial period no more xm. No one has tried to call her.

They only call if you have a paid subscription. After the 3-month trial, it'll just cut off. I waited a while, and then called for the $77/year deal. In the last month, they would call my work every week to convince me to renew.

^correct.

they will NOT call you.
they will NOT e-mail you.
there will be NO contact at all.

at the 3-month mark, the service will just be cut off.
simple as pie.

to me, XM sucks hardcore anyway.

Lol, either the previous owner didn't turn off auto-renew, or you're on a family multi-year pack and they haven't noticed you =P

I didn't get calls but I received a lot of junk mail from them and still do despite having subscribed.

It's a free, 3-month trial!!! Like all trials, you can subscribe, or just let it expire!!!

Check the XM Radio for $77 thread for more info!!!

It will cancel by itself. I got several things in the mail urging me to renew, claiming big savings inside, blah blah what they mean is that they want to sucker you into a 3 year plan where you still pay close to the 12.99 default monthly rate.

Then I got a flyer for $5 month for 3 months, so I took them up on that. I can deal with $5/month, haven't decided about getting in on the $77/year deal.

That's not true. They called AND mailed me something. The extended me for 3 more months for a total of $14.99. However, I do have to call and cancel it after these 3 months bc it will then go up to the regular rate of $170 something a year and that I'm not doing. I like the $5 a month but it's def not worth any more than that.

Well, they must have wanted your money then. They never contacted me. Why would they chase after the free trial people? They don't know if the customer is willing to pay, and since you haven't paid them, that means both of you don't have a business relationship, so they have no legal right to contact you.
