Uhh yeah...

worldwide the preferred method of displaying fuel consumption is to do (fuel)/(distance)... only in the US do they do it "their way" (backwards).

US MPG = How far can I drive on 1 gallon of gas. Therefore, higher is better.
Litre/100KM = How many litres of gas will I need to drive 100 KM. Therefore lower is better.

I grew up on miles per mile and although I had no trouble with kilometers or kilometers per hour, I was slow to take to L/100 km, that is until I got my TSX with the mid showing current and trip fuel economy.

Now I get and understand it both ways.

All I know with the price of gas, I'm glad that my TSX gets real good fuel economy.

Ironic that the acura.ca site seems to be down at the moment. This may have been covered already, but I'm wondering what a few of you canucks are getting on your dashboard for L/100 km. I have been getting 10.2 since i bought it (2000 km). That seems kind of high....

all depends on how you drive... usually i'll average around 9.8 for the entire tank... but i don't punch it all the time... just here and there... big highway trips i've gotten around 6.9 or so... 6.8 to the tank but that's ALL hwy driving...

I have got as good as 6.4 L/100 km on the highway and have averaged city and highway on long road trips 7.5 L/100 KM.

I remember the first few weeks with my TSX that I also averaged around 10.2, but that has improved and I average between 8.8 and 9.5 now depending on how and where I drive.

In city I get about 10.2L and if I don't drive spiritedly then I'll get 9.8-ish. I'm just under 12k kms and I'm sure after the next oil change it'll start getting better. I've got a free service coming up though so i'm going to push it to the 16000 mark before going in - even though I've got an oil change right now.

www.honda.ca and www.acura.ca has been down for a couple weeks. What is going on with those people!! I work in the IT sector and you never let your business homepage go down for hours never mind days or weeks.

I just checked
http://www.acuraofnorthtoronto.com/e...%20CONSUMPTION
the mileage according to them is 10.8/7.2.
I'm happy with my highway numbers but in the city i'm running 12.1 right now. And that is not driving that spirited... it might have something to do with the fact that I just drive for short distances.

^^ Are you sure about that? I was on acura.ca a couple days ago and just checked it now. It's working fine.

400km?? I have an '06 6MT and I'm averaging 10.8L/100km with majority city driving and I find that I'm getting around total 500km-520kmM AX on a full 65 L tank? Is that about right? I was always under the impression that this car could get 600km minimum easily (in mixed city/highway driving). I drive pretty conservatively too, shifting between 3-3.5RPM with only revving 6rpm once in a blue moon on the highway.

What other mileages have you Canadians been getting?

I can easily get 600km's per tank. To be exact, when I fill, I can only put in 55L. Although I take it easy on the throttle.

I keep detailed stats about my fuel consumption, etc... and going since I had the new engine put in, I am averaging exactly 9.63 L/100km which is about 60% suburban, 20% city, 20% highway.

I find it varies depending on my driving. If I only drive to work and back, I average around 11.0l/100 km - my work is 6 km away from home, all city driving, with lots of stop signs and traffic lights.

As soon as I do a bit more highway and longer distances, my fuel economy gets better to the tune of roughly 9l/100km.

My best tank was an average of 7.6l/100km, when the car was brand spanking new and we took a trip to Cape Cod. That's with the car fully loaded (kids and luggage), and through the mountains in Vermont and New Hampshire... I figure that if I did the same trip now I'd average 7.2l/100km.

I'll be driving down to Toronto in a few weeks; looking forward to what my average will be!
