C&D TSX comparison? ATTN zircon
In that ridiculous "TSX ranks last" thread zircon mentions a Car and Driver comparison between the BMW 325, TSX, IS300, and Grand Prix GTP.
Does such a thing really exist? Was he confused? Or bsing?

Well I don't know what the hell he was talking about then. Here is exactly what he posted in page 3 of that other thread...
"The best comparo of these cars was in Car and Driver. Your beloved BMW was never worse than 2nd of 4 cars tested (TSX, IS300, Grand Prix GTP) in any of the 5-6 categories, and was 1st twice. Acura was 1st twice also, but was last in acceleration and braking (the car's only flaw). Let's leave it at this and all go out and drive our cars..."

I wondered about what the hell he was talking about too. But lets face it, if there was a comparo that tested the TSX vs BMW vs Grand Prix vs IS300 it would have been posted here.
I think he was still referring to the Automobile comparo though from what I can muster?

And, in these comparisons, they actually did a very admirable job of explicitly describing all the criteria and the methods and scales used to judge the cars, and the final rankings were just the sum total of the scores in all the individual categories. I believe in one of the comparisons, teh bmw came out on top of just about every performance category, but the tl won because the price differential was so great. Then, the next time they did it, the bmw came out on top, even with the price being taken into account.

It wasn't a comparison, Car and Driver showed the TSX's test numbers in comparison with the 3 series (325i), IS 300, etc, in their July issue full road test. It did well, bested in acceleration (by a hair's width) and on the skidpad (also within a hair's width) by the BMW (its fractionally better performance numbers in these two categories comes at a steep price, of course). Nothing fishy. Good article and another ringing endorsement of the TSX. Get lost, Wishewere trollman.

is that roadholding figure just the skidpad G figure? I'm really starting to wonder why most car comparos don't use the slalom speed...seems a better judge of handling to me. What i'm getting at is I don't think the pontiac can "outhandle" an is300....

That IS 300 has 16" tires, which damn near no IS has. Not sure why Lexus sent them one with 16s. The IS has gotten great reviews from C&D.
The TL-S has never come close to winning any comparison with these sport sedans. The TSX is a better handler and cheaper but slower, it should stack up well.
