Buying a TSX

I contacted a dealer a couple weeks ago regarding the purchase of a 2005 Black Acura TSX 6MT with Navigation. We worked out the details that it would be $28500 OTD with the protection package. The internet sales manager and GM told me it would be in by the 19th and they were very generous with delivery date so they said there wouldn't be a problem. So, because the dealer is 500 miles away I scheduled a vacation day at work and moved all of my meets so I could drive to pick up this car. Now they say that it will not be in this week so I better not plan on coming up, blaiming the whole situation on Acura. What can I do or should I do. They currently have $1000.00 deposit of mine and I really want this exact car. Do you think I can get them down on price anymore for this inconveience?

I dont think so...thats a tough call. Sorry about that.

Tell them you already booked the day off work and you want them to compensate! hehe...if not ask for you 1000 dollars back and buy else where?

That's pretty much what I'd do... tell them you had meetings rescheduled, and are oming 500 miles just to give them your business - they better make it up or you get your deposit back (as if you read the agreement, i think it has a stipulation that you can get it back if they don't deliver w/in 7 days of agreed-upon date).

Get them to drop the protection package and negotiate for 28k is what I'd do.

yea, depending on your taxes and what are you are in. $28500 OTD is actually a pretty good deal for a navi. Especially the 6sp.
Most here got ours for just under $28000 before TTL.

Ask for $500 off or you want your $1000 deposit back

The price hasn't really come down. Remember, other parts of the country have a much lower sales tax. We in SoCal (LA County) have the pleasure of paying 8.25% sales tax (or did it go higher). So a TSX w/ Navi for $28K w/tax will be over $30K OTD. Whereas some other counties in the US charge no sales tax at all. Ofcourse, we don't have to drive 500 miles to buy one either.

I bought my 2005 TSX 6MT w/NAV on July 16th (picked it up 8/3) Price before TTL and options was $27,813. In MA we have + 5% sales tax, the dealer had $139 in doc fees, $29 MA state inspection, $34.50 for new plates + registration (if I kept my old plates it would've been $18 cheaper).

Go somewhere else. I bought mine two days ago from a dealer in PA. It is a Carbon with navi for $27,374. the dealer in philly physically drove himself down to Delaware and picked this one up from another dealer and drove it back to PA.

Thats not a good price. plus, you shouldnt have to drive that far, make them go pick it up.

although, i guess protection package is extended warranty? thats another 1300 isnt it. so i guess it is a good price....still make them bring it to you.

Oh, hayle no! I would never let a salesman drive my brand new car. They better flat-bed that bitch for me. And don't even think about charging me for it.

LOTS of room? No way. Unless theyre taking out all 4 sets of wheels and removing the engine mounts. Thats a giveaway. (Unless youre in SC and are only paying $300 for sales tax)
