Question a burning question about the interior

I'm about to buy a TSX and I love the White exterior with Tan leather. However, there is one thing I cannot stand. The woodgrain trim on the interior has to go.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get a black stripe to trim the dash and side doors? If so, I'm definitely going for the tan interior and changing that strip to black to match the top part of the dash. I think that would look great.

If I can't I'll go for the graphite or black exterior with all black inside.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I guess we're not the only ones! This must have been what my guy drove when he was scouting the TSX for me (our dealer is a couple hours away). He was telling me about it and said he confirmed with the sales guy that the TSX was available *without* the wood trim. [edit]we went w/ the carbon grey/ebony btw

There is a "stainless" trim application kit to match the interior trim of the ebony interior. No reason you couldn't put it on the tan interior trim. Ask your dealer to throw it in with the sale price of the car.

I think the pieces included in the kit are used to supplement the trim in the car. It covers the window switches of all the doors, and the center console between the navi and the armrest.

The pachment interior comes with the wood trim. If the OP wants the metallic trim, he would need to swap out the pieces as well as replace the navi system with one that has a metallic trim

instead of replacing the whole head unit to get silver trim, just buy some from pep boys for like 15$ and use that

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread. I have the exact same discontent with my wood-grain trim...

I bought used so I did not have much of a choice on the interior color. I DO love the tan tone, but instantaneously wanted to replace the wood trim. Right now i'm under the assumption that the only Acura-made option would be the silver from the black interior option, and anything else is DITY?

I've been unable to find anything after market to remedy this...

I actually really like the White with Ebony look. However, I'm looking at '06s right now and can't seem to find any with that combo. Total bummer. I'll be buying in another 1-2months so we'll see what's around when the time comes. Hopefully I can get my hands on a PWP with Ebony by then.

Thanks to all who replied.

Good luck on your search! And great advice :P

**Would anyone be interested in a carbon-fiber option if it can be manufactured?

No accounting for taste of course; remember that when it comes to color (and trim for that matter) there's really no right/wrong or good/bad. I actually like the wood trim. Too bad it's only available with that baby-sh*t brown interior (it would look great with the black). I knew I'd be giving up the best interiors in the business when I bailed on Audi and starting driving Acuras, and I miss their wood trim the most (the real birds eye maple in my S4 was outstanding). I'm not a real fan of the aluminum trim, but it could be worse. If you really dislike the wood trim, and have your heart set on a white TSX, then I'd agree with the suggestion to go with the black interior.
