Oh I see. I don't know about Jan, but I could make the switch once my kids are able to climb into their own seats. That will probably be about a year or 2 from now if I really wanted a change.

On switching to 2 doors specifically though, I also think its time for a change for me personally. I've driven 4 door hondas and acuras for a LONG time, to drive my family members around, etc. Since we have a minivan now, the vehicle I drive doesn't have any tasks or requirements other than needing to have 4 seats for an occasional short trip with my 4-person family.

So, my thoughts on cars have changed and expanded to include 2 doors now. Although you guys (Black_6spd and you) and your new cars happened to get me thinking about this pretty far in advance of anything remotely realistic. I'm supposed to be keeping the TSX for a long time....

I think I'm going to tell my wife that the Earl family has "the factory closed for business"....j/k!

Ever think of a project car to complement the TSX? You don't necessarily have to ditch it. Even in my situation where I got the RL, I'm going to pick up either a DC2 shell and drop a JDM B18C or go with a BMW chassis and use the older M3 motor. Of course, there's the "factory racecar" in the S2000. Whatever I choose, it will surely be bred for the track and gutted.

On a side note, I saw a CPO M-coupe in the showroom of a dealer when I was doing one of my routine impulse trips. It had a pricetag of "only" $50k for a used car. That thing is a pure go kart!

Wow... this is my first time seeing the interior backlights on in the TL-S and I'm drooling. I wish the TSX was blue inside. I'm loving the red everywhere... except on the gauge, it reminds me too much of the Honda Accord. Gotta love the blue gauge inside the TSX more ^_^

Your car is still hot though.

Ya that's was the goal for me as well - TSX as the DD and a dedicated project car. But if there is an opportunity to get something semi-exotic or an older exotic with in the next year or 2 while I'm relatively young, I'd like to do it. I'd sacrifice the TSX if the right opportunity came around.

For all this talk that I'm doing, I really do love my TSX as currently constructed and nothing is going to happen for me for a little while. With you guys jumping ship, it just got me to reevaluate my priorities. Funny thing is, the wifey mentioned something like this to me a couple of weeks ago, so its a bit ironic that you guys upgraded. She came up with the notion that I try to get my ideal car, since the minivan has been enough to transport the fam around. So that conversation and you upgrading has got my mind working even though I know its not quite feasible.... yet.

BTW, speaking of that M-coupe, the 1-series based M1 is supposed to sport that same 333hp m3 engine. The M1 is going to be one hell of a tight car...m3 power in a smaller car= giant killer.

There are just the two of us, the family factory is closed, so the coupe could be an option down the road. However, we have 2 sedans now, the TSX and Mrs. jlukja's 99 Civic. We'll be replacing the Civic first, most likely with something with a little more hauling space. Mrs. jlukja likes the PT Cruiser, I want to take a closer look at the Honda Fit. My folks just picked up a 2007 CR-V which is pretty nice, but a little too big.

That said...She's gorgeous, Joe...wad's already dropped...so you're safe for now...

So Joe... what about a quick comparo on the 6MT TL-S and 6MT TSX? I just got a pretty good offer on a leftover '07 TL-S 6MT, and I've got the itch!!! I "borrowed" the pop's ride for a week while the rents were on vacation ('07 TL-S AT), and it was fun... I imagine the 6MT is even "funner". At this point, it may just very well be down to this... NBP or WDP? I've already started selling my wife on the "more luxurious, more spacious" argument

I never thought the TL looked much like the USDM Accord, but the pic above put it into perpective.

It reminds me of this:

The USDM Accord has grown on my though. At first I thought it looked fat and assertive, like jabba the hut if you will, but now that's exactly what I like about it, and by extension, about the TL. Sports sedan slash snow plow.

Well, its been almost a month now. The obvious difference is power. I'll try and get some video on a 0-60 run, but man, this thing pulls pretty hard and is absolutely smooth as silk. I don't know if its the exact same 6MT as in the TSX, but its pretty similar with a much better clutch feel, at least compared to my 04.

Of course, the other issue is size. It does have that bigger car feel, but the suspension is spot-on and gets this larger car through the turns pretty well. I don't feel as hooked up to the road as I did in my modded TSX though, but its because I'm not lowered and the stock wheels arent ideal. But, I havent experienced much understeer, in fact it feels as hooked up as a TSX with a CT sway. Body roll is minimal, which is surprising for a car this size. Now if I were to compare this with a stock TSX, I honestly think it has it beat in every department.

I'm putting on an AEM CAI tomorrow. That's really the only thing its missing is engine noise which I like to hear when shifting at high rpm. Other then that, I'm not touching anything with the suspension. Yea, it needs a little drop for looks, but I dont give a shit this time around. I'm leaving well enough alone...

The TL-S looks apealing to me also but a new model is coming soon and I bought my TSX very recently so the trade penalty would be particularily stiff. I'm actualy suprised you were so willing to take the hit for a current TL.
