Buh-bye TSX...Hello TL-S

Well, when you're offered a car like this for under invoice, its pretty hard to refuse. I picked up an 08 TL-S 6MT NHB on Saturday. I'm going to miss my TSX, but man, this thing flat out hauls. Here she is:

So, I'll be parting out some of the TSX stuff. Check black market soon.

It was fun hanging here for the 3+ years. Made some e-friends, some e-"enemies" It was all in good fun. I'll be over on the TL boards mixing it up, so we'll see you guys around...

- That guy you love to hate,

gaddamn, nice upgrade. IMO, the regular TL doesn't drive as well as the TSX, but I've never driven a TL-S. Must be pretty freakin sweet, judging from the reviews....I think it came in 2nd to the IS and placed ahead of the much beloved g35 sedan in a Road & Track review. Not bad for a 290-something FWD car.

Have fun on the TL boards, man....

Looks good. thats probably the exact one I would have chosen, options and colorwise.

It seems like you always win going with the manual trans...dealers have a harder time moving them because 95% of new car buyers don't like them, but they almost always make the car a hotter item on the used car market. (Look at any 90's japanese performance car for instance.)

Yea, you can definitely tell you're driving a heavier car. Havent had a chance to flog it yet, but so far its not bad at all. A little bit of body roll, but I can deal with that. I really dont plan on modding this car at all. Just wouldnt do it any justice...

WOW that is AWESOME looking? What percent tint is that? I think whatever it is makes the car look perfect not too black but just black enough. It makes the car look REALLY nice.

Seems awfully black to me, as if you're trying be invisible or understated to the ultra max, not allowing any wavelength of light to escape from the car to inform the outside world of your car's existance. I think a darker blue or burgundy would compliment the dark windows and wheels.

The tint is 12% in the rear, 23% in the front. I think the front is really pushing it for CA, so we'll see how long it lasts...

The paperwork is at home right now, but the final price was around the low 35's. So it wasnt by much. The other factor was that I kept pushing them on the fact that I can go and get an 07, which is the same exact car, for around $33.5 and kept threating to pack up and leave. Also, they brought the car in to the dealership on a dealer transfer, and I didnt tell them to, so they would have been stuck with a 6MT.

So, that's how we got to that price.

Wow...nice work. $35k is definitely a pretty good price for the TL-S.

Should've known you were up to something when I saw your post on the TL board regarding dealer quotes.

Congrats. The TL-S definately has more gadgets, better leather, etc. Be prepared for your gas mileage to be in the teens. While it's easy for me to say I prefer the 335i, the TL-S is tough to beat at around $35k.

Did you get it from Escondido Acura? I thought you pledged the G35s would be your TSX replacement?

Thanks

I don't think its as bad as some make it out to be. Though I wonder if the type S has a stiffer R&P to make up for it, because I've noticed that the steering wheel feels "heavy". I dont remember that with a loaner TL that I had for a few days.
