Brighter High beams

I was wondering if PIAA or somebody makes a brighter H1 high beam bulb for the TSX. I was thinking something that looks closer to HID color (brighter purer white) but is still a halogen... similar to the way PIAA xtreme reverse lights look. Also, just a simple bulb swap is what i'm looking for. I don't want to mod anything. Its just a whim, but it wouldn't hurt to have a better light output. I'm sure there's something out there that costs around 20-30 dollars at most. Someone on another forum mentioned something like Philips H1 or something, I can't exactly remember.

If it's whiter (and still an ordinary incandescent bulb), then it's probably not going to actually be brighter. And will probably burn out much faster to boot. I bucked that logic once when I saw SilverStar H1's on sale, and decided to try them out for kicks. Tried them side-by-side to the stockers. Whiter, yes. But didn't illuminate as well as the stock H1's. Removed them and returned them.

Now I had Silverstar 9007s on my last car and they were a heck of a lot brighter than the stock headlights. Maybe it's just the H1s. Do you know if they make the H1s in the Xtra Vision Silverstars? They might be worth a try.

I've been running PIAA Xtreme White H1s (4300k) for the past two years, and they're pretty damn bright. I can't exactly recall how they compare to stock, but I do remember being very glad I made the upgrade.

Are they whiter looking? The reason I want the change them is because I don't like the yellow look.

Well, if all you want is the whiter look, the Silverstars should look fine.

Yes, they're about the same color temp as the stock HIDs so they are as close to white as you can get.

Okay thanks... I just want to make sure you're talking about high beams and not fogs. I know it says 'high beams' above, but I'm just being double careful.

Yes, I'm talking about the high beams (H1s).

I use PIAAs in my fogs as well, but they're the Plasma Ion Yellow 2500k H11 bulbs, which I also love .

The funny thing is, back when I did this, I took photos to try to illustrate my results. But guess what, the camera is apparently better at picking up blue/white than my eye is - MUCH better... because in all my photos, the SilverStars looked like they illuminated more than the stock bulbs (not unlike the photos on the packaging of those SilverStars),

I'm pretty satisfied with the OEM bulb on the High beams. Can't really complain because they are yellow but very bright.
