Brand New Acura!

Brand New Acura!
I finally got my new Acura AT/non-nav/CG/Quartz, no additional accessories or options. I just love it so far! Got it for $25,447 in Norcal.
Maybe I am being a bit paranoid but I have a couple of questions:
1. The system message indicator below the Temperature Gauge is always turned on.Is that normal?
2. I notice a slight lag between the time when I turn on the ignition and the engine kicks in. In the sense, I can feel the engine engaging for just that fraction of a second more rather than kicking in right away. Is this a problem? The manual says, it is normal since the machine is 'working to reduce emissions at startup'?
Any advise guys?

I have the 06 manual, and it does seem to take a bit longer to start up the engine. At first I thought it was a problem, but I asked the Acura dealer and they said it's like that for all the cars. Hope they didn't lie to me.

$25,447 is a great deal !! That's before tax and all the misc. fee, right?
The "time lag" that you describe might be the engine immobilizer taking the time to check the electronic chip in your key. It can take 1 to 3 seconds. That's pretty normal.

The little orange/yellow "i" Make sure you and your passenger (if applicable) are buckled up and see if it goes away. If not, like someone else said maybe have the dealer check it out.
Congrats on your new car!! It's a great feeling isnt it.

I was confused by the white "i" thing too. The white one is not the system message indicator. It's the label for the info button (the left-hand one in the dash), to tell you that it does the same thing as the "i" button on the steering wheel. If you look at the right-hand knob you'll see that it has a matching icon with a picture of a dial. The actual system message indicator has the same icon, but it is yellow and right next to the MID. You'll see it the first time you run low on fuel or your passenger doesn't buckle up.

Hum...after a quick look through the database, it seems for a non-Navi 2006 TSX 25,447 is the second best CA price. WSinner is cybernetikz at 25,200.
Lowest listed 2006 non-Navi seems to be an IL one at 24,200 by Ishakir...

Yeah, the start-up lag is normal, I actually like it, it doesn't sound like your cranking up a civic or accord.

The problem of OTD price is not every states' OTD price include tax -- some states don't have sale tax on cars, i.e. Oregon; some states buyer pay sale tax with vehicle registration, instead at dealer.

Actually, it just shows how few people sign-in and how weak the database is right now...

[QUOTE=BusyShifter]How about the $25,000 OTD for Joey's TSX, and his is a Navi .
Dang! I would have matched the best, that was the price I was bargaining for.
I still dont believe $25K w/ navi,If it infact is true, then he just got very lucky!

I don't think it can be done. See the image below, which is the price tag for the vehicle appranetly. It seems that the brand new TSX was already marked down to a very low price by the dealer. The discussion can be found in this thread --

$25,200 without navi, that's price I was bargaining for at the dealearship, I even walked out of the dealership when they wouldnt budge, eventually returned to get it
at $25,447, however, all that matters is I am happy with my purchase.
