brake job

Hi all,

I def think i need new brakes as I am usually hard on the brakes and I now have to really depress the pedal alot.

I have an 05 TSX w/ 28K miles on it. Do you think i need front AND back brake pads or just front?

any assistance would be great.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Check how much pad material you have remaining. But I'd just bleed the brakes first and change the brake fluid.

Usually at 28k- you can resurface the front rotors and bleed/flush the brake fluid. Brake fluid flush is good thing to do once a year or more if you really drive hard!
Valvoline Synthetic DOT4 used by many acura owners
Normally the rears last twice as long as the front

If you have worn the rotors heavily and they are scored or damaged, upgrade to some awesome RacingBrake rotors.
I would run HAWK HPS brake pads regardless of what rotor you are using- they are great for the enthusiastic driver

Acurazine sponsoring vendor MrHeelToe has a huge selection of TSX go fast
and stop even faster-goodies- check the website- special deals for aziners

and the rotor pads combo

No, if he doesn't have brake shuddering, then he doesn't need to machine the discs. Machining it will just make it thinner and more succeptible to warping. On the TSX, if you do mostly highway miles, the rears wear out first before the fronts. If you do city miles, then they wear evenly.

With 28k on the brakes you should only need front pads. However, check the min. thickness on the front rotor to be sure. Go to a local brake shop. Places like Monro and Meineke will usually check that for free and then give you a quote.

If you need a better than OE setup look into ROTORA slotted rotors.
