Body damage
Body damage
So the other night my girlfriend picks up her TSX from the dealership, we dropped it off 2 nights before. She picks it up around 0100 hours, we drive straight to the house and go to sleep. In the afternoon we get up and get ready to head out to do stuff. As we walk to the car she notices this-
Upon further examination we notice-

That was not there when we dropped it off, and because we picked the car up at 1am, when it was dark, we did not see it. She calls the dealership and tells the service guy about the damage to the vehicle.
The service managers asks ‘well did you notice the scratches in the parking lot after lunch”…We were still standing in the friggin drive way on the phone with the service guy and he is trying to put words in her mouth asking about parking lots and lunch. That was some BS.
So they have her drive the car over there to look at it. They take it in the back for about 20 minutes and return the car to her. The scratches appeared to not be there anymore, at the time the sunlight was not on the car. She drove down the street and stopped to get lunch and looked at the car, with the sun on it. Nothing changed; all they did was buff the hell out of it. You could still see the scratches.
She drove home to show me and then called the dealership. It went from – you scratched it at lunch to- ‘bring it in so we can see it’ to ‘ as a show of good something or another about customer service, we will have the car fixed’.
They schedule her for a loaner, and a date/time to drop the car off. The night before the appointment she gets an e-mail from the dealership to remind her. The e-mail does not say anything about paint/body repair or touch up. It is a reminder for a car wash and detail….that is going to take 2 weeks.
Is it me or, is it a e-mail mistake, or is something fishy going on?

I swear that the lot porters at Radley are the biggest bunch of morons ever. Occasionally that don't even know how to drive a stick.
But they know better than to pull that shit with me now.
Sorry about your troubles.

Not the first horror story i've heard coming out of radley acura...have you tried using some meguires scratch X? how deep are the scratches? from the pics, they kinda look like they will come out with a good detail. the ultimate test would be to see if you can catch any of the scratches with a finger nail. if so, you will need a repaint.
IMO, the email was probably a "form email" and either the service guy coded the appointment as a detail job or their auto email system sent an incorrect reminder. At least the car that scraped it wasn't 2 inches closer to your car. That would have been a major detail job! Ha Ha. Sorry to hear about the scratch tho.

I havent tried the finger nail test, but I suspect they are going to try a detail/wax job. I hope they paint it.

There is a thread in the RDX section about this Radley Acura. Gosh Honda should do something apparently their service dept is the worst based on the guy who started a thread there!

How the hell do you manage to pick a car up at 0100? Is that a typo?
As inconvenient as it sounds, I think it's best to pick up a car during working hours, and look it over, and check out the repair. If something amiss, you can alert the service manager right there before you even drive it off. If you've driven it off, they can claim it happened after it left their premises.
Have you called your insurance company yet? They mght be interested to know, particularly if this dealer decides they DON'T want to do a repaint to fix it. You're entitled to a proper repair, either with or without the dealer's "good will" assistance.

They tried to claim the damage was on their after the car left, but the proof that their attempt at this claim is BS is in the fact that they are now trying to fix it.
I'm not calling my insurance company if they dont take car of me, I will be calling Radleys insurance company
your dealer also sucks btw. when i bought my tsx, it was at night and there was a 4 inch scratch on the bumper. since it was night when i bought it , i took it back the next day to ask them to fix the scratch, they gave me a loaner the next week and had the bumper repainted to fix it.
NEVER EVER leave your car at Radleys! On my TSX, they have put a hole in my Aspect front bumper(made them replace it with a new one shipped nest day air), Put rubber marks on the rear bumper. Not to mention parts that they said they said were replaced on our RL and were not.( I marked the parts) Trust me, everyone at Radley's knows me. I just went for the free oil change, and I have them check my car before they take it in the shop, and I tell them if there is one scratch they will will sorry. I always inspect my car before I leave their lot and insist my car not be parked in the parking lot, and no sandpaper car wash! I also tell them I want my car service where I can see it. When it comes to service at a Acura dealer, Radleys is one of the worse, When it comes to car damage. The only reason I go back, because they know that I will holler and scream if my car is hurt in anyway, so they are VERY careful now. In fact they hate to see me coming in the door! Next time let then know if there scratch on your car you will complain to Honda Client service. They will take care of you then.
BTW it looks like they scraped tthe side of the rear service bay with your car. Not even my car and it pisses me off.

Holy shit man, my scratches are nothing compared to that. Which Acura do you go to now? I guess next Monday will make two weeks, so we should be getting a call from the stealership.
My 07 TL needs to go in for alignment soon and oil change, I dont think I will be going to Radley, not unless I am going to stay there to watch them work on it.
I whish there was one where I live.

I still go to RAdley's for my oil change, for the freeoil filter and labor.( I bring my own oil). After some very embarrassing moments, they are now very careful with my car. They now know how anal I am about my car and the service writers are scared to death I will not give them a 10.
Took my '06 in to the dealership a while back for its weekly complimentary car wash. I noticed when I got home that they had scratched the front bumper when washing the license plate. Ever since then, I always take a walk around my car before I leave the dealer parking lot when I've had it in for service/wash.
