Bluetooth Setup

I'm having trouble getting Bluetooth to work.. I click the button, say Phone Setup, it gives me a list of options.. And when I say Pair, or List, or any other command, it never responds.. That's the end of it. My wife has tried too and we can't get past the initial menu.. We thus have not been able to pair our phone..

Have others experienced this? Any ideas?

Thanks

No, at the time, we, embarrassingly, didn't realize my wife's phone supported Bluetooth b/c hadn't needed/used it.. When we go back to the get the license plates, we can ask them to do it.. Or sooner.. But I'd rather do it and avoid the hassle of going back to the dealer..

Do you need the dealer to set it up? I didn't think to ask and just figured this was something we could setup ourselves.

No, you don't need the dealer.. I've followed the directions for my phone found at handsfreelink.com but to no avail..

Make sure you set your phone into bluetooth mode first. If your phone isnt looking for a signal to connect to it... it wont work.

That might be your problem.

Other than that.. .the directions work fine in my 06 TSX

Did you press the talk button again before saying Pair or List? You didn't mention whether or not you did...

No, not exactly.. not again.. I pressed it once to start, said Phone Setup, and then, after being prompted, said "Pair" (or Pairing.. I forget) ... I'll give it a shot again.

And yes, I did have the Bluetooth on the phone turned on... Good recommendation.

Not all Bluetooth is created equally.

Even phones that are compatible with hands free sometimes have features/functions that do not work correctly or not at all. Did you double-check the Acura web site to ensure your phone is compatible with Acura hands free for the TSX?

http://www.acura.com/handsfreelink/

The site gives you compatible phones, cell carriers, how to pair your phone, and data packages available (not sure what you get with the data package?)

The only other thing I can think of is maybe you have the Bluetooth function turned off on your phone?

Side Note: Bluetooth will eat up you phone battery when paired to your car. I had to purchase a car charger for my wife’s Alltel RAZR because the charge would last less than a day without it.

You have to press the "talk" button before each and every comand. Don't just press it once and keep talking from there.

"talk": Say "phone setup"
"talk": Say "Pair"
etc......

Thanks man -- this did the trick.. The notes on handsfreelink either didn't say that, or I didn't comprehend that.. Oh well.. works now..

Appreciate it.
