Bluetooth installed and working perfectly

My brother has a TSX and wanted bluetooth like my 05 TL has, since it would have been a bitch for me to add on that system, he went and got the Parrot CK3100 ADVANCED CAR KIT. Didn't take any pics, but here is a a quick write-up

it has a tiny screen, that shows everything, and is the main controls

The kit works great, acutally better than the TL one thats built into the car, but the install sucked

everything would have been nice an easy, but they tell you nothing. basically i had to figire out what speak wires go where, and which harness on the kit to use. they give you 16 wires and you need to guess which 8 to use.

the mute wire is a - wire when you need a + signal, easy to fix with a relay, but they don't tell you it's -, and you need to guess.

found out the speaker wires need to connect to the wires on the amp that go directly to the speakers, if you connect it anywhere else they will not work.

Mute wire is worthless. when you mute the radio it works, but it super low. the way i worked around this was wired up a relay that cuts the aux power to the radio, which then lets the bluetook kit have complete control to the speakers, and sound perfect.

The only down side to this, is the temp/clock/radio display shuts off, but if you goto change the temp/radio you still see it via the navi screen. It instantly comes back when you are done using the phone.

I tried to tie into the stock Mic by the ambient lighting, but it sounded crappy, so i installed the mic they provided above the rearview mirror

If my brother gets a chance you can see i put the screen in the "not an ashtry" spot.

Man I love it when people take the time to do an install really well. I like the relay cutting the aux to the radio, nice touch.

then why not post up the instructions?

i will post my instructions for free, and show how to hook it to the stock system, and not waste your money on the option speaker.

I remember Eld doing this install a long time ago. He was the first one to enable the muting by cutting the relay signal to the OEM amp.

The TSX is expecting 12 volts on Pin #14 to mute the OEM HU. It's too bad they made the cell phone mute go to 0 volts when it wants to mute. This seems to be the standard for the cell phone mute wire. My Pioneer N2 mutes properly and I didn't have to do anything special when I connected my bluetooth kit last year.

Here is my install sheet. I use a dedicated speaker because the relays on the "lump-in-the'cable" won't handle an aftermarket amp's power.

might not work on an aftermaket amp, but does work with the stock amp if hooked up correctly

who cares, this post isn't about you or anything you are selling. it's about me installing someting on my brothers car, and freely posting the instruction up, and not trying to cash in on it from other people.

chill man, the guy is one of the most knowledgeable users on the board, a great vendor, and highly respected. People like to hear about where they can get stuff and how they can do things. If one way to do it is to use a dedicated speaker and someone we all trust stocks that as a vendor I would sure as heck like to hear it.

i am a little annoyed with him, my brother asked him for instructions as help before he asked me, and all he did was try to sell shit to him, such a great member. i don't consider anyone more knowledgeable than myself...

Your an ass for saying that kind of sh*t. El Duderino is the man! I just bought an awesome DLS amp from him for an awesome price. Hes so helpful and friendly so fuck off and I'm sure most of the A-Zine community would agree with me.

no he posted his instructions, which are worthless.

does he tell you which color wires you need to splice or cut? nope.

does he tell you how to hook it up to the car speakers, without paying for his add on speaker? nope, i don't think he knows how to do it

all he tells you is how to wire a relay up, andone with electrical experience knows how to do that.

His instructions are the same crappy instructions that come with the kit

I'm trying to do you guys a favor. If you don't want it, thats fine with me.

I don't think people are saying they don't want your favor, but to disrespect a VIP on this board is not the way to garner respect for yourself..

My recommendation, post your install and sit back.. If it's worthwhile, it will be recognized..

I know I asked ElD about his install and he said he used an external speaker b/c he has aftermarket amps and component speakers.. He helped me as much as I expected someone on a message board, he even included pix of his install..

i don't need any respect from anyone, nor am i asking for any, i don't care if he's a VIP or the dude who owns the site. he is wrong for what he did, end of story.

this was done for my brother, and i was being nice to share any information i had, then elduderino comes into this thread trying to sell shit, if he wants to sell something do it in the correct forum, not my post.

dude... he was pointing out that for those of us who have aftermarket amps, we can't do it the way YOU did. So he was giving an alternative... just because he mentioned that we can get that product through him didn't mean the only reason he posted was to sell something.

you know and I know that if he posted, "oh if you have an aftermarket amp you can't do this, you have to use an external speaker" period. Someone would reply "where can I get this?". So he cut it off at the pass and gave people somewhere they could get it that we all trust.

I think you need to lighten up a bit

I'm gald you were able to succesfully do this yourself and I would probably come to you if I had questions should I decide to do this in the future to my TSX, but it sounds like you have a personal vendetta against ElDuderino.. Just post your install if you want or move along..

I think most everyone here agrees that ElD is a stand-up guy except you..

i am nothing against the guy and the work he does, hell i don't even know him

anyone who needs help is more than welcome to contact me. if you live close enough i would even help you install it

i am just annoyed that my brother was going to buy the product from him, yet he wouldn't give him help with the wiring without charging him more money.
