Below invoice on '05's???

The subject line says it all. I am very seriously considering the TSX. I am asking my fellow AZ members (aka educated TSX enthusiasts) if they think there will some price drop on 05's once the new 06's start rolling in(say in the Jan/Feb time frame). Since most ppl. outside of this forum don't understand the demand and supply of this vehicle, it is hard to get a straight answer elsewhere.

I did some searching on Autotrader.com and noticed a number of new 05's in a 200 mile radius from where I currently live. In addition I have called a couple of dealers, most of which have had at least one 05 on their lot. I guestimate @8-10 available in that 200 mi. radius. I am near Altanta/Charlotte/Nashville. My local dealer just got their new 06's yesterday, so I know the answer to my question before asking them. They have an 05AT in red on their lot, and I am hoping they will to a dealer trade.

Any comments? And if the answer is "yes", say in a few months they might go down, how much below invoice could I expect (if any)? Thanks in advance!

Also, my local dealer has 2 '04's on the lot. One with 25K and one with 14K. The are asking @$25.5 on both. They are in excellent condition, I am just hesitant with those being a first model year.

I got my new '05 non-nav AT in August for 25.8 OTD. I'm surprised the 04's are still that high.

Are you kidding? Acura's are great for resale. I got ABOVE high bluebook for my '03 CL-S - and it had 45K miles!

I'm wasn't implying that the 04 price $25.5 was not a good price. My reference to my 05 purchase was that I got it new for 25.8 so why not get a new car instead.

But we may be comparing apples & oranges if we find that the 04's he's looking at are navi where my car is non-navi.

Sorry I did not indicate that earlier. I am looking at non-navi models.
I test drove both the new '06 and the '04 w/18K (again asking 25.5 and was owned by one of the salesman's wife) miles on it yesterday. I felt alot more torque on the 06. Was I imagining that? My dealer is asking the 28.5 for the one and only '06 they have on the lot. I was told no wiggle room on price. I say let some idiot pay MSRP. I am holding out on the 05's dropping...if I can find one.

IMHO the 04, w/18Kmi. and w/o Navi @$25.5K mi. is overpriced. I bought mine new for $25K.

I'm getting a 2005 with Navi sometime in the next few days, I was able to haggle my way down from $500 over invoice to $300 under. Don't pay more than you should. My price is $26,800. The 2006s are selling for above sticker. Find a deal and hold on to it, the 2005s won't be there in a few months if you go back to look for one.

That's a nice price on the '05. Congrats!

The dealer her has 05's on the lot that have been there all summer. They are red. For some reason people aren't buying the red ones. I think I am going to make an offer on one.

I just got $19500 on a trade-in on my 04 with nearly 32K miles on it.

And a lot of dealerships in the area are advertising 04 TSXs with 25-26K miles for $24300. The TSX has held its value incredibly well and many owners who sold their 04s in private sale were getting $21-22k.

I wonder how low the dealer can afford to go? If they have had an 05 on the lot all summer and it hasn't sold, what will they do to move it? Does anyone have a thought on this?

Thanks.
