Question Battery Wire gauge

Can someone confirm the gauge of the positive and negative wires? I am getting some new battery clamps and want to make sure I get the correct gauge ring terminals.

They "look" like 4 gauge, but I got no proof.

You just used 0 gauge on the negative side though, right.

You and CCC agree, so that's what I'll go with.

Yeah, just the negative side. I kept the original positive terminal.

That's my struggle. The positive terminal is actually very clean, but the negative is just to crappy looking now. I was going to run a negative side only to a grounding block for more of a clean look, using 4 gauge. That is still an option, but figured I would run the positive side to a 2 terminal battery clamp and use 4 gauge ring terminals for the 2 wires in there.

Only issue with doing the positive side is if I need to get the battery jumped (doubtful since it is the Optima), then you run the risk of burning the coatings off.

No, I installed 4gauge cables and they are 1.5x thicker than the stock negative cable. Not sure on the positive cable.

Yeah, I've not measured the stock cables, but I'd say both positive cables and the negative cable are more like 8 gauge. Assumption based on some car audio work.

I just verified, since I went to Parts Express, that the wires on both sides (2 on the positive and 1 on the negative) are 4 gauge.

I appreciate everyone's help!!
