Battery Indicator
Battery Indicator
Well, I have been using my Razr linked with the Bluetooth in the car, with absolutely no probs. I am enjoying it.
But just as i was going thru the manual this weekend, I found out that the display should show you the phone battery indicator as well with the signal strength on the panel display. I am seeing the signal strength but not the battery life.
Is anyone of you able to see the battery life on the front panel, if so, is there anything special that you did while pairing up the phone, or wat?

patience man, just cuz noone replies maybe they just don't know the answer to your question..
anyways it's a function of the phone to show the battery life on the MID, i'm guessing that the RAZR isn't compatible with that feature, i have the V635i and i don't get battery life shown on the MID either, thankfully I do get signal strength though. Apparently some people dont' even get signal strength shown on their MID.
there's a website that acura has (handsfreelink.com) that you can go to see what phones are compatible with the Handsfree link and what features they work with...

i had a motorola i870 - it didnt show neither the battery life nor the signal. With the rarz it shows only the battery signal. As Cibs said, different phones have different compatibility levels

I have the comparable A900 from Samsung. Its a lot like the razr. Here is a thread a posted about it in the audio/video section: https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/samsung-a900-06-tsx-bluetooth-compatability-343877/
I have experienced the same things though.

Both the sony ericsson s710a and w600i have full compatibility. I see both battery and signal level. (The w600i had to be flashed to the previous version though, since the current version isn't supported)
I believe the compatibility problem lies in each manufacturer's bluetooth implementation for a certain model. They can decide which information should be made available to bluetooth devices.
You might want to look into some cell phone forums to see if there's a flash you can use on your phone. But it's a dangerous process...be glad your phone actually works

It depends on which model and implementation of the RAZR you have. I have a RAZR v3c from Bell Mobility and I get both the signal and battery. Different carriers may have the "same" model, but the implementations will be slightly different. The v3c from Cingular has several differences from the one from Bell or Verizon or any other carrier.
