Average wait for ordering a TSX.

Ok Gang........I'm having a hard time locating a 6sp. TSX non-navi in the color I want. Whats the average wait involved when ordering one.......and was the dealer correct in the time frame he quoted you?

2-3 months...i ordered one initially in january. it came in to the dealership in early march, but then the dealer sold it from under me. ordered another (different dealer) in march and it has yet to arrive, but should be here within the month. 6spd's are a bitch to find here in so-cal.

Forgot to mention that the 3 months was East Coast. And I guess all the vehicles are shipped to NJ first and then shipped to their East Coast Destination.

The dealer told me that out here they come into the Oakland shipping area so thats fairly close,an hour or so to the dealer I'm working with. At least it won't have to travel cross country when it does get here from Japan. Geeeeeeeeee.....maybe I should just hop a flight to Japan from SF and have them shake their asses....

I waited 7 weeks for my 6-speed and the dealer was a few days earlier than when he said he would get delivery. Tough wait but well worth it.

The dealer has told me that he got confirmation that my car is on a boat headed for the US. Anyone know how long that trip takes?

Well, with Acura breaking sales records it's no wonder the TSX's are hard to find. The average time for a merchant vessel to cross the pacific is probably about 3 weeks or so.

I was fortunate to take it home same day, but color I wanted would take 3-4 months. It is because Acura is trying to really push sales for the RL/TL (the american made cars) as compared to the TSX (100% Japan car). Additionally so many people want it. Non-Nav's are definetly easier to come by, if you are in NY drop by Rallye Acura, they got a lot of non navs. Paragon...eh good luck there haha.

It's not that the TSX's are hard to find out here, there were plenty on the lot 5 or so but not a 6sp. in the bunch.

Hey guys first post here! Got mine in one week. Plaza Honda NY swapped with Rallye NY. Satin Silver-Ebony, AT w/Navi. I LOVE IT!!! Actually ordered the Carbon Grey because Satin was not available. Asked Plaza to search it and figured they would blow it off since the sale was done. To my utter surprise they found the SS and I got it right away. Best car I ever owned. It has only 500 miles on it now and I'm glad to find this forum.

My arrival date of May 19th was verified by the dealership yesterday and they gave me a VIN number so I knew it was legit. I think the color has a lot to do with availibility as well as if you got navi or not. Supposedly the dealer told me that they only put navi in 1 out of every 4 tsx's...making them much harder to find.

My dealer had a fairly good selection in stock, so we were able to drive ours home right away! Had to be a little flexible on color, but it worked out just fine.

My dealer is on the prowl for a 6sp. Meteor Silver/ Quartz. in central Ca. I've heard the color described on here as kinda girly but I'm hoping that the 6 speed redeems me a little.

Last night I wrote a letter to Acura in Torrance Ca. asking why the availability of a 6 speed is so rare, like one in 10. Did you ever notice in the manual that all of the pictures taken of the interior show a manual tranny. They make it look like it's an easily found feature. I'm just curious to see what they write back. I've written them before and have always gotten a polite response.

I was firm on what I wanted: Meteor Silver/Quartz 6speed, no-nav. Not a single dealer in the NY/NJ/CT/PA area had one. Factory order would have taken up to 6 months. Mid-shipment trading would have taken 2-3 months. My sales person did a lot of searching and found one in Virginia. Two weeks later, my baby came home with me. (My search began in mid-March)

Meteor Silver is a HOT color for a "girl" or a "boy". During the day it's more of a silver blue color. During the dusk hours, it gets more silvery.

Well, if you need a 6MT w/ Navi combo, come to Leith Acura in Cary, NC... several sitting on the lot when i drove through the other day. (Yes, I do realize that if you are in California this helps you absolutely zero. But wouldn't the one way plane ticket and a road trip returning your car back home from NC be worth it if you could get the car you wanted tomorrow. )

The only problem is that it wouldn't be the best way to break in the engine since he'd be highway driving. Nonetheless, still would be an awesome road trip with a new car!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...Nice thought eidji concerning that road trip. But a blast across the country wasn't what I had in mind for a break in period...:-). I'm also wondering if the California cars are smogged differently. Probably not.....all Hondas burn as clean as can possibly be,thats why I love em.

Wait time?

I guess I was lucky. The dealer found me a black/black 6speed manual / no navi in 2 days.
