Automatic Door Locks?

I just bought a TSX 2005 and I love it - but i was suprised to see that the doors don't automatically lock once the ignition starts and automatically unlock when the car is turned off. My old Honda Civic had this. Does anyone know if this is a feature I can turn on? Thanks!

I would hate my car if it did that, but since you asked, I don't think it's possible. It's actually not safe in the event of a car crash to have your doors locked as it makes it harder for workers to rescue you.

Welcome aboard, BTW.

It's one of those ongoing debates. True it can trap you into a car if your in an accident. But having them locked can prevent you from flying out of a door that flew open in an accident as well.

There is no real better solution as far as safety goes

This feature can be added with a widget from Directed called the 452T pulse generator. Under $20.

Worst. Feature. Ever....IMO my last car had it and it was annoying when passengers wanted to get out. But then again, if our doors would automatically unlock when opened from the inside, then it would be a decent feature. na mean?

I need to research it, but there are lock and unlock wires that do not affect the alarm inside each door. I don't think there's a source of IGN inside the door (there's ACC, but it drops out during cranking, so we dont want the locks chattering up and down). That's the only kink I see.

It needs power, ground, lock, unlock, IGN, and that's it. It's smaller than a pack of cigs.
