My 2005 Transmission went out at 96,000 miles (5AT)

 

Certified warranty covered all repairs. Transmission/Torque Convertor and three new motor mounts...

 

Lucky. Happy motorin' for another 96K!

 

That sucks (but good news on the warranty).

That's very early for a TSX transmission. What happened?

 

I'm so glad my car is CPO..have about 25k of powertrain warranty left.

 

Wow, how in the world did that happen? Only thing I can think of is using non-Honda ATF in the trans.

 

Dealer does not know either. Bought my car there and always serviced it there (every 5,000 miles). It was the first TSX that they had to replace aTransmission on. I do not race the car or abuse it. Just alot of stop and go driving. Who knows, maybe just a fluke...

 

What were some of the problems you were having before your transmission failed? When did you start to notice the problems before it failed?

I've been changing my tranny fliud every 30,000 miles at the dealership.

 

Torque shudder between 35 mph and 45 mph. Loss of power, longer to shift, hard shifting. Happened around 90k miles.
