Around what mileage is it better to replace it? Looking at a 07 with 108k miles and tensioner or water pump was not done.

My water pump schedule is every 100K miles. Along with coolant (obviously), and spark plugs.

I did not bother with timing chain or tensioner replacement. Mine is fine...not stretched or rattling.

The BELT tensioner should be replaced when it becomes rattly. Mine started making noise at like 120K miles or something. I replaced it. Took 20mins.

 

Both water pump and belt tensioner give ample warning (noise for both and leaking for pump), so not absolutely necessary to replace at mileage interval.

You can hear the noise, the pump and tensioner will make different noises, mine is starting to make that noise and on the to do list, but not a priority until its definitely evident.
