Auto RX-8 VS Auto TSX

since the hp has been lowered, do you think people will cross shop between the two?

auto Rx-8 specs
hp:197 at 7200 rpm
torque:164
weight:3053 pounds

auto TSX specs
hp:200 at 6800 rpm
torque:166
weight:3318

only big difference i see is the weight. other than that, they are very similar. sharp design, high revving and canyon diggin cars.

completely different engine too. No cylinders for the rx-8 as it uses the rotary engine.

we'll have to see some dynos first. I have a feeling the rx8 will not be putting down awe inspiring numbers(then again we don't know about the tsx auto either). What we do know is the 250hp(now 238hp) rx8 manual puts down 170-180 hp. Same as a tsx manual but 20+ lbft of torque less. 150 to 125/130. Predictions for the tsx auto look something like 160hp 140lbft. Even if the 197 hp engine makes 197hp(same as the hi power it seems) ford isn't known for notoriously good autos and it's a 4 speed. I guess only time will tell though. It will still kick ass in the corners though.

There is nothing Ford about the automatic gearbox... Ford may own a portion of the company but this car was designed by Mazda engineers in Japan and shares no parts with any Ford.

most people with time slips are running low 15'. I think the best i've seen is about 14.9. one thing is for sure though, and accord wouldnt' stand a chance in the handling department

*Sigh*

You may be lonely in that ugly old Accord of yours, but that is no reason to so overtly proposition another poster. For goodness sake, dude, at least use the PM.

Yeah, especially the rear end. Oh wait, you must be talking about your 1988 Accord. Yeah you're right. My bad dude. Got a kickin four in there eh? Sweet. The chicks dig the 1988 Accord. LX-i! Niiiiice. I love the technology in that car. Like that digital clock in the center dash. That MF is hot. Yeah, that sound it makes when you leave the key in the ignition. Beep beep beep beep. Beep beep beep beep. High-tech baby.

You know, you don't get enough credit Adam. I mean, you come off as such a little bitch, but you are more than that. Much more. Yeah, you're just another loyal Honda owner. Props to Adam, little bitch that you are. Say, you aren't related to Adam from Eight Is Enough are you?!? OMG, I have a new image of you now. Little bitch. Little Adam. Can Mr. Van Patten come out and play?

You're my hero EIE. You just keep taking it and all will be well. That '88 Accord of yours is pretty good looking I'm sure. MUCH nicer than a TSX. Do you have an LX-i?lol

lol. Adam you hve to understand. If any of the people on this board actually wanted accords we would have bought them for less then we bought our tsxs.(it was on my list of final 2 cars) But obviously we all have reaons why we got tsxs so it's really not necessary to come in and tell us how great the accord is or how bad the tsx is. To be honest none of us really care. If you ant to hang out on this board that's cool, but contribute something useful for once.

It's called brand styling. Honda already lost a good amount of this, but now they are going back. BMW has excellent brand styling. Also, minivan is one word, and spaces should come after , and . You are not looking too smart so far.

Weird... I clicked on this thread thinking it was about the Mazda RX-8. Luckily for me, there are plenty of car forums out there where people actually enjoy talking about cars.

PS... Two words: IGNORE LIST

i wonder if this guy knows that the TSX is the real accord that everybody in the world got except the US? The USDM accord is the honda inspire...a big egg on wheels made for fat americans that like to drive slow. the TSX (JDM accord, the REAL 7th gen) looks and handles alot better than that piece of sh*t they sent us. I have a 6th gen accord sedan (autocross monster) and i was following the developement of the 7th gen accord...all early drawings were of the JDM accord (TSX). i couldn't wait for the 03 accord to come out...until i saw what accord we were getting...yeah, i was piSSed. the only good thing about the new accord is the interior (which they took out of the JDM accord with the good body) and the V6 engine...the car itself looks like sh*t...it looks nothing like the previous accord...mainly because it's not an accord at all. it's a damn inspire. it inspires me to wanna slap the sh*t out of the people who decided it would be funny to drop that mini bus in our laps instead of the CL9 body. sure the 04 odyssey has the front of a TSX (the 05's are all new), that's because the odyssey is based on the accord. you talk about a van that has the front of a car, well what about the accord? it's got the rear end of a van, and all the style of a sack of wet nickles. the accord V6 6speed coupe with the OEM body kit is the only decent 7th gen USDM accord out there...but even it doesn't live up to the proud heritage of the previous accord family's looks...The TSX is the REAL 7th gen accord, that thing you bought is just a poser. and the TSX is on a 3 year (since it was released) road racing win streak, and it's leading this season again...what's the 7th gen USDM accord leading? the line to the grocery store...yeah...you're a winner

That was the first hilarious post I read on here. Someone who talks so boldly about, yet knows nothing of, the subject.

Back to the original subject tho', the two are apples and oranges. I was actually looking into the Rx-8 and EVO before I got my TSX. I have my Integra for my need for speed and I'm getting a CBR600RR sooner or later plus I wanted luxury and some comfort for my daily commutes, so I got my TSX.

The Rx8 has suprisingly good room in the rear seats and stock for stock, feels alot more nimble than the TSX. I like the looks of the Rx8 except one view, the 3/4 rear view looking at the front fender is NASTY! Being RWD, the Rx8 will turn-in and tuck corners a bit sharper because it is a sports car, but the FWD TSX is more like a sport-luxury touring car.

Apples and Oranges. Test drive them both and make your decision, but if you get the auto Rx8, don't be mad when I smoke you! lol...
