This is something that has bothered me for a long time now. We have the auto dimming inside mirror which is great, but I still get blinded by light from the outside mirrors.

Has anyone seen/found a way or a company that can/will change the outside mirrors to be auto dimming? Even with tinted windows, it can be difficult to drive at night, especially around trucks/suvs.

 

I agree it's too bad that the outside mirrors don't dim. That feature was the only upside to the auto dim mirrors in a few of the Audi's I had. I have absolutely no use for the auto dim rear view mirror in the TSX (and in those Audi's for that matter). It doesn't dim soon enough, it doesn't dim enough, it doesn't dim during the day (thanks to the proliferation of daytime running lights and the yahoo's that feel the need to have every light in the front of their car on 24 hours a day, it would be a big help if it did). The only use I have for it is it allows me to power my Valentine off it. All that said (you had to get me going on that...... it's a pet peeve of mine), I've never come across an aftermarket product that would modify the side view mirrors allowing them to dim. And if it is/does exist, I'd assume it would be expensive. And.... it seems like most of the dolts on the road don't use them anyway, so I wonder how much of a market there'd be. If you find it really annoying, just adjust the mirror(s) (temporarily) so that the reflection is pointed away from your view (that's what I do).
