anyone regret purchasing a white (PWP) TSX?

hey guys,

i wanna get a PWP 05 tsx, but my dad is insistent on CG. He says it is easier to maintain during the winter in terms of looks. Has any purchased s PWP TsX and regretted it and wished they got a CG?

Thanks,

When I was purchasing the TSX, it was between SSM and PWP for me, but when I arrived at the dealer parking lot and saw the crass lines after it had rained, it kinda turned me off, and since then I'm pretty happy I got the SSM, even though the color IMO is more blah than the PWP.

PWP gets dirty real fast, esp in rain and winter snow.

I have PWP and park the car outside. My wife wanted me to get the CG but I'm glad I got PWP. It's hard to keep clean but in the long run the CG will show swirl marks and look like crap after a couple of years. If you keep the PWP clean and waxed, it will hold up much better over time. White cars are also less likely to get in accidents since they show up better at night (I read this from some insurance company).

I had a white TL, and it was a pain to keep clean in the winter, but then so was every other color. I really don't worry about it too much in the winter since there's only so much you can do - I just accepted that any car would get dirty. But when it's clean, PWP is such a sharp and rare color out there that it more than makes up for it being dirty in the winter. My .

Short of the posts on gays in the military, you couldn't choose a hotter topic with more diverse opinions. The comment about white being easily seen at night is true, as the white will pick up more available ambient light; insurance actuarials will tell you that. However, the evidence is not so strong as to cause the insurance world to actually drop your rates for white, so..........

The debate rages as to which color is easiest to maintain, but both the pure white and pure black represent more challenge with dust, rainstreaks, saltstainss, yadayadaydada. I have a CGP, and am very happy with it. Because of where I live, I can get this thing properly washed no more than once a month, and the color holds up fairly well in between. I had a white car a few cars back, which generally looked filthy, even though I tried, with that one, to wash it twice a week. No way of getting through Philly's mud season intact. I haven't had this one through a winter season, just yet, but I believe it will be better than my old white car. (The car after the white one was black, which was equally a disaster.)

However, you will find folks on this webpage who are devoted to white, and wash it daily, brush and groom it, deworm it, and generally housebreak it with tender loving care and would never drive a car of a different color.

There will be a secondary debate between CGP and SSM as to which holds up better with dust and grime, but either one will be better that white, crisp color that it is. (Go look at your Dad's car after a week of driving through mud puddles and see what you think. He is obviously speaking based on pained experience).

I'm just poking fun. I frankly don't care what people say about color choice or transmission choice. I only made that comment earlier because I knew it would get you to pipe in for this thread.

I've seen some white cars where the body panels (i.e. metal) look great, but then the bumper covers (plastic) look faded and yellowish. I know the white that Mazda uses is bad for this.

Any of you guys with PWP notice this uneven fading between the body panels and the bumper covers? Or did Acura manage to get their bumper cover prep work right?

no regret what so ever, since PWP/Ebony is what I wanted in the first place! Just go with what you like!

I don't think white or CG will hold its value better (or worse than) any other color.

I think the PWP is a sharp color. And, yeah, it will present some challenges as far as taking car of it. But, most colors do. Dark colored cars (and, I would consider the CG to be a "dark" color) show swirls, chips, and dust really easy. The PWP won't show minor paint imperfections in nearly as pronounced a way.

I say get the color you want. I think you'll love the TSX either way.

my motto : you should get whatever color you like the best. after all, it is your car. if you settle for something less, you'll never be sarisified.

i picked pwp because i had a dark blue car before my tsx. that thing showed major scratchs, swirl marks, etc. after years of use. my mom's white camary didn't have very many swirl marks or scratchs year after year.

what i'm trying to get at is, the darker the color, the easier it is to see imperfections.

Ok, don't claim to know all the colors available. My wife is trying to decide on what color for her 05. She is leaning heavy on the CG first, Silver next, but has yet to see the Blue/Silver whatever it's called. Problem is, this Blue/Silver or the White, does NOT come with Ebony, yet ! If it did, I think the White /Ebony would be had in a New York second!

It may be worth a trip to Canada to get the White/Ebony! I just wonder what the exchange rate difference would be and if they can or would sell to the lower 48??? Can you bring them in and is the emissions the same???

having a white car had never entered my mind before the tsx.
early on i had the impression white was ugly because rental and courtesy cars were white.
I was obsessed with the TL and wanted black on black for it but dind't like the TL after i test drove it. That was when i saw the PWP tsx, and it kind of opened me up to white cars. Most sporty cars look great in white (e.g. 3 series coupe, audi a4, is300, etc.), not that i've noticed them more.
i've had the pwp tsx for almost 2 months now, and definitely no regrets whatsoever. You also get the luxury of seeing all the tsx owners from the US cry because they can't get PWP/ebony.
As far as resale value, i think both pwp and cg will be good, since they are widely popular choices.
