TSX 'R' US

No regrets whatsoever. I knew what I was getting and it actually turned out better than I had thought. The car is really fun to drive, beautiful, and I can use my nonexistent portable MP3 player in it. If I had wanted more power, more room, etc. I would've gotten something else. I may have had some reoccuring noise issues...and recently some paint issues, but every time I rev her inerds or take a turn well over the speed than what they taught me in drivers ed or turning on the lights at night...I know I made the right choice.
Oh, on the bumper cost issue...that's why I have insurance. Out of all the money I give them every year, they better give some of it back to me when I need it.

I don't know, but my CL-S gave me great protection when I crashed it. I had about $8K in damage but TOTALLED a Volvo S60. Who had the safer car? Very hard to say, but all I know is my car performed wonderfully.

Another CL-S story: my friend hit some guy making a left when he shouldn't have. He t-boned him going around 30-40 mph (was going 40 but started slowing down). His CL-S has $8K in damage but it is very repairable. The Ford he hit is fuct. It buckled.

There are two examples of Acura safety. You don't hear Honda/Acura getting a lot of run over their safety record, but they should. Sure their engines run clean and get great gas mileage with incredible output, but they know how to build a safe car as well.

I half-regret buying my TSX not for any good-car/bad-car reasons... but rather that I'm in school and I probably should have kept my truck for a few more years until I graduated.

OTOH... my car has had nonstop problems... and right now I have a good-sized rattle and my radio/AC/clock displays are totally dead and it's going to take about a month to get a replacement radio in. TSUX?

I love my car. I drove to Dallas last weekend and got 33 mpg. My only regret is not getting the Navi. If you are on the fence... Get it.

I do however wish I would have waited for the TL. I want the extra features that are availible: XM radio, memory seats, DVD audio, bluetooth and many more. I will upgrade to a TL or RL this fall.

Some regrets, the rattles, the poor showing in the crash testing, and the lack of some simple amenities (heated outside mirrors) makes me wish I had saved up for another year and got the TL.... TSX is a good car, but with only a tiny bit of effort, Acura could have made it a great car.... My fault, really, never never never never never never never never NEVER buy a car the first year out, even if it's an Acura or Lexus, if you do, bend over and bark like a dog, and enjoy it.

Nope. I needed a car and this one does the job better than any of the available alternatives. Plus it's a lot of fun.

Well judging from the fact that the radios are on CRITICAL BACK-ORDER and that my dealership has had 6 TSX's come in for the same radio failure... I would say that I'm not the only person with UNOLUCK.

Are you the only one on this board to have this radio problem?

I'm not suggesting that the problem in'snt widespread but chances are if it is, we would have heard about more cases. Thats been the case here with other problems.

the radio seems to be a spreading problem but i was able to get a new one installed the same week i brought my tsx in. guess i'm just lucky...

No regrets in any logical sense of the word.

I'm just very fickle when it comes to cars and no matter what it is I'm driving it's the last thing I want to be driving. Maybe that's why I've been through four new cars in the last four years.

To the TSX's credit however, it really helps my left brain out when it needs reasons not to change cars again. "No, but that's not as reliable as an Acura", "but does it have auto-dimming mirrors?", or "True, it does accelerate more quickly, but do you really want to be turning 5,000 rpm at 80 mph?", so on and so forth.

The TSX rocks.

That is exactly how I feel. This is my 5th Acura and I knew somewhat to expect out of this car. But with all the complaints here about performance, rattles, driver's seat, navi lock-ups, etc. I was wondering if Acura had gone down hill.

On the other hand I got the Cadillac CTS when it first came out, I was one of the first people to have one and had nothing but problems with it.

I have the quartz, but my wife's Outback has ebony leather and it is great. Doesn't get real hot like you would think and easy to keep clean.

I almost purchased the ABP w/ ebony but got the CG w/ quartz instead.

Tight man... I'm picking one up in the next week or two with the ebony. Just am worried about the dust factor the most at this point but I am pretty good about keeping my car clean so I doubt it will matter too much. Is the quartz hard for you to keep clean? (with like foot marks on the doors and the mats?)

I have only had mine since Saturday, so it is still pretty clean. Maybe Jason can chime in here. He has the same color combo I do.

My quartz interior has been surprisingly easy to keep clean except for the carpet on a rainy day. Nothing a good cleaner for the carpets won't fix though.

YES! But only when the weather is bad (rain or snow). Get the all-season floor mats, and you're covered. I love 'em.

I have regrets but still think the car is right for me so I will spoil my ballot and not vote.

I regret that when my dealer chose my set of keys from his bunch of SSM non-navis, he didn't grab another set. I have more problems in this car than any of the previous 5 cars I have owned. I attribute this to being unlucky with the car that was delivered to me. I think other cars are having less problems than mine.

However from a pure performance and use point of view I love driving in my car despite all the defects I am experiencing.

i clean my interior about once a month with a leather clean/conditioner...i thought i would get a lot of little black marks and scuffs but hasnt happened *knock on wood*

Absolutely no regrets. I only considered the ebony interior. 20,000kms (12000 miles) and the only adjustment was to the windshield washer spray. No rattles or squeaks of any significance at all and I drive on bumpy secondary roads some of the time. I spent some time researching the car in advance and got what I thought I was getting. I am happy with the engine..a littlle low on torque compared to the Honda V-6 but the overall balance and handling are great with the 4cyl and this car is certainly a great high speed cruiser.

No worries, I have 17,000 clean miles on my car. The key here is the all-season floor mats (they were free CT, don't start with me). Not only do they do a great job protecting the carpet from the elements, they also look great and add to the two-tone look. You got your black upper dash, quartz lower dash, and then black again on the floor. Looks cool.

The more I drive the more I like it. A Fwd car that handle almost like a Rwd.

I have to be honest, at first I wasn't sure if I'd made the right decision on this car. But now, at 3100 miles, the more I drive it the more I'm loving it.

Fooman said earlier in this tread that everyone has buyers remorse with a big purchase like this, and for me that holds true. I'm getting past that now. I've always done this with cars and it usually takes me several months to come on board with a particular vehicles virtues. And the TSX has plenty of virtues.

How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways! LOL!

As for problems, I've had absolutely none. No rattles, no bad radio, nothin'. Just flawless. I'm very impressed with the TSX's build quality. The only real beefs I've had are getting used to the stiffer ride and the not-so-good gas mileage.

The car is a bit rough-riding over textured road surfaces, but it makes up for it in the handling department. Those who say the V6 Accord can hang with this car in the turns are nuts. No way, and I'm a former Accord owner (2000 EX V6). The new Accord wins on sheer power, but the TSX is a much better balanced car from a performance standpoint.

The interior on the TSX just rocks too. Very polished, and I love the dash area. It has the Accord beat in this regard also.

22.5 MPG so far in 50/50 driving, but I'm finding this bothers me less and less as time goes on, because it's just so freakin' fun to rev this engine!

It's funny. For all the beefs I seemed to have with the car early on, I found that I was always driving it. 3100 miles in two months is way more than I would normally put on a car.

All in all a great car that I would buy again.

I'll probably be the only one to say something about regrets. I think more and more about driving my old CL-S then I thought I would. I kind of miss the power of the V6 and a few other amenities it had. I made the choice between the 6 speed 2003 CL-S and the 6 speed TSX. (Mind you I was trading in a 2001 CL-S) I bought the TSX because it was new and different, when now I think about the CL-S more. Now they don't make the CL-S anymore...

I have no complaints otherwise. The car is great, and I'm damn lucky to be able to own a car this nice.
