anyone looking for more power?

ok first just thought id see whats up in this side of the forums, but i met one guy who had recently got rid of his TSX. dont know the exact reasons, but he always mentioned the lack of the power from the TSX.

how do you guys feel on the power output of the TSX? or do you focus on everything else the car offers?

[**also my 2001 Acura 3.2CL is for sale, GIVE the TSX a brother and have a nice sports car! Comptech Headers and CAI, 200WHP, low miles=66,000, 2nd owner after an older lady. looking to get into a dif car, IF you're in Chicago and are interested, PM me...looking to sell by mid-summer-ish**]

WHP=at wheels, but i think we all know. lol

Personally, I have no complaints. The TSX moves, and yes, it won't do 0-60 in under 6 seconds, but who cares? I had an RSX Type-S before this, and I think the TSX has just as much power, if not more. The engine is more refined.

Plus, when you add in all the other goodies, including the BEST 6MT in the business, an I never had the need for something that was 1-second faster than everything else off the line.

ok sounds cool. i just wanted to get a sense of the demographic of this car, and heres one very sound answer. sometimes in the CL forum, people get a bit HP crazy...only some, not all.

I agree....this car is not blazingly quick, but it is good in power. I am satisfied and couldn't be any happier with this car.

The TSX is slow from a dead stop. It takes a long time to get up to the higher RPM but once you get there, it pulls nicely.

Man, going up hill is where the car shines. I routinely go from the I.E. to the high desert on the 15N, and I pass all sorts of vehicles without problems.

For myself, I'm happy with the power in the 6MT version. I've driven the AT TSX a few times and would not have bought the car if that was the only option. BUT that's a combination of the fact that the 6MT is faster, AND I have full control in my hands. Not to mention this is the slickest manual I've ever driven. There are many AT TSX owners who are quite happy with their cars. I say test drive both and see how you feel.

Also, should you want to sell your car feel free to post it in the Black Market section.

^^The AT is fine at freeway speeds. You have to rev the piss out of it in 1st and 2nd to get it moving. So ya, an AT TSX is slow in 1st and 2nd. The ratios between 1st and 2nd are FAR apart, so that's what makes it slow. 3rd, 4th, and 5th are speedy enough.

I have owned many vehicles with turbo engines and was stopped numerous times for speeding (luckily no tickets but warnings). I am more than happy with my 06 tsx-keeps me out of trouble.

I think what a lot of TSX owners (including myself) rave about is how balanced the car is. The power is reasonable and can provide some fun at the limits, but you can still get 30+ MPG on the highway. It handles well, but the day-to-day ride is still very comfortable. It benefits well from inexpensive upgrades (CAI, RSB, etc.). It has all the options one might need, without being burdened with specialty gadgets that no one ever really uses. All this for around or under $30K. Honestly, I have yet to come across another car that has this kind of value for the $.

People are going to say now you get all of that for under 30K in the current US Accord and Altima V6.

I think the car is fairly underpowered, especially when you consider the price range it is in. Like most Honda's, the engine could use a good amount of torque and some more HP really couldn't hurt. But, that doesn't mean this car is slow. It is still faster than a good amount of cars on the road, but as stated earlier, it is slow for it's price.

Overall though, I love my car. It has just enough power to keep me entertained while keeping me out of trouble. *knocks on wood*
