Now that prices & details have emerged about the 2010 v6 TSX - anyone gonna make the switch?
2010 TSX Pricing
Last but not least, Acura has set the pricing for the 2010 TSX.
2010 TSX (2.4L 5AT/6MT) - $29,310*
2010 TSX Tech (2.4L 5AT/6MT) - $32,410*
2010 TSX V6 (3.5L 5AT) - $34,850*
2010 TSX V6 Tech (3.5L 5AT) - $37,950*
*add $810 to these prices for destination and handling.
3.5-liter, VTEC® V-6 engine, producing 280 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque
Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission (Although similar in design to the transmission available with the 4-cylinder engine, the transmission mated to the V-6 engine is more robust to handle the substantial increase in horsepower and uses different gear ratios to take advantage of the V-6’s abundant torque.)
Sport-tuned exhaust system with dual outlet tips
Upgraded charging system with a heavy-duty battery
Split five-spoke, 18 X 8-inch diameter aluminum wheels
Michelin Pilot P235/45R18 all-season tires
Exclusive suspension tuning with special rate front springs and recalibrated dampers
Expanded use of Electronic Control Mount (ECM) system to control Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH)
Active Sound Control (ASC) noise cancellation system
Upgraded braking system (Special rear brake pads are used that deliver improved stopping power. In addition, the V-6 model makes use of a larger brake master cylinder, a revised pedal ratio, and a new brake booster to deliver more performance-minded braking feel.)
Revised front fascia opening for improved engine cooling
Strut system for easy hood opening
V-6 emblem on rear trunk lid
Easier-to-read Navigation screen with reduced glare compared to the 2009 TSX (Technology Package—also on I-4 model)

The title was supposed to say "Anyone Gonna Make the Switch to the 2010 v6?" Not sure what happened.
I chose Maybe. ~$5,000 for the above seems a little steep but I do like the current TSX more than the TL so in about a year when I am ready to purchase, the v6 TSX might do. Hopefully by then one of them will have ventilated seats.

I hear you, but I'm wondering how all that tq and hp will flow to frontwheels without torque steer. I am assuming the V6 will also be FWD?!?

No, too much $$$ for a 280hp FWD car. If it was $34-35K with the tech package I would get it. I love the TSX, but I'll take the G37x sedan or even a loaded Maxima first.

The only other option out there for the V6 TSX would be AWD, and that is at least 2 to 3 years out. Yes torque steer will be an issue, but with added weight with the V6 it might make torque steer a little more noticeable. The only way to tell is drive them, but the lack of a MT is deal breaker.

Forgot about the Maxima- "IF" I was in the market for a car like this- 4 door sedan, high 200hp, sporty type feel, overall value ( as TSX is )- I dont think a $38k TSX can hang with what you get with a Maxima.

hahaha nooooooooo way, it's almost $39k for a V6 with the tech package. That's ridiculous!
135i/used 335i ftw
edit: yeah, I know, of course you would have more features in the TSX but the driving involvement in the BMW's would more than make up for it

Absolutely not. No manual transmission, and my car is only a 3" pulley and K-Pro away from being faster than a V6 TSX anyway, with the added bonus of not looking like a concept car from the original "Robocop".

If I really had to choose between the two cars, I'd go with the V6 TSX over the TL.
But really, I think both cars are ugly and for the amount of money, I'd get something else like a Maxima. Seeing how Acura has been going, my next car will not be an Acura

I hate to bitch, but no chance. Between its looks, lack of MT and ridiculous price I can't imagine how Acura could push me away any further. Isn't the idea to keep customers in the brand?

No 6spd auto. Step up to the plate man.
Chevy Malibu/Aura/G8/G6 etc has 6spd auto.
Toyota Camry/ES/IS/ has 6spd. IS-F, Lexus LS has 8!
Ford Fusion/Milan/MKZ/MKS all have 6spd.
Even Chrysler has 6spd. (really crappy one)
Then there is Honda, still in 5spd land.
For those who think that 5spd is good enough, didn't they say that when 4spd was the norm and 5spd auto came out?
And yes, no MT just disappoints me. Standard 5spd auto with a torque converter.... At least make it a DCT like the Audi's, and then we'll talk.

No real chance of an upgrade to the V6 TSX while in its current format. Sounds a bit over-priced based on the initial specs. Besides, no MT and lack of a LSD are the real deal breakers for me.
I was hoping that Acura could have pulled out a few surprises with this one, but it's looking like they've totally given up on "the sport" aspect.
The pricing for this model reminds me of the initial pricing problem associated with the RL's debut. It was priced higher than the market would sustain. - Kinda leaning towards the G37 at this point.

in my honest opinion i do not like how they are making the tsx size bigger. i like the size of my 05. now to me the car's size is becoming just a little like the new acura tsx.. but just maybe 1 or 2 inches smaller. maybe more. but i like the simplicity of the smallness of the first gen tsx's.

IMHO, if I was looking to spend that kind of money...I would rather pay just a little more coin to get a loaded new CTS. 304hp I think and the car itself is delicious in every sense of the word.
You could probably get a pretty good deal on them right now.

You will (hopefully) see an initial spike for the people that really want the TSX with a V6 and a sharp decline after that. I would be surprised if 10% of the sales will be V6s after the dropoff. Acura has shot themselves in the foot for charging the TL's pricing for a TSX. And as most people have already mentioned, they will look at a 328i, G37 or IS350 before paying 38k for a TSX. If they came in around 2k above what the 4cyl version is selling for just like the Accord I think more people would buy it.
#34
Nope. Like just about everyone else, I'd rather spend that kind of cash on something else.
Or save and buy something a couple of years old with more power, RWD, manual, and with tuning options.

$38k. I still can't believe it. There are so many better options for that much money. If present styling/drivetrain trends continue, I will 100% not be in an Acura product whenever I move on from my car.

alright the price of the 2010 tsx v6 fully loaded is $37,000.
why not just go and buy the TL? thats ridiculous. the TL is around the same price and you would get a much better car.

acura should've started charging these prices a long time ago. now, since acura has been known as value luxury for so long it is a hard pill to swallow to pay $38K for a TSX V6. Look at Lexus and now Infiniti. People still buy their cars even if they are all more expensive than Acura.

They're also (subjectively, I know) more attractive vehicles, and offer the choice of RWD or AWD.
$38k for a FWD V6 sedan is simply asinine, and there are better options available in that price range. Acura are shooting themselves in the foot.
