Hilly roads are the most satisfying.

well since the TSX is so slow uphills shift that fuker into first gear and rev the RPM's to like 7,000 plus turn the overdrive off and wath yourself soar up the mountian like a rocket ship thenwhen you cruise down the hill in Nuetrul because your engnie will have already been blown you can sit back and wish you would have gotten a I-6 rear wheel drive 240HP lexus IS300

As always, thanks for your wonderful response GOSPEEEED.
Idiot.
Anyway, just make sure you pay attention and remember you have it in SS mode. You get used to having it in auto, with the radio on, you forget that the tach's bouncing off the limiter.
I did that a few times after getting off the highway.

That troll just can't quit with his IS related garbage.
Put the thing in drive and push the gas pedal - there not many hints to be had with an AT car. The Honda engineers are swift enough to think for you in AT mode - the SS mode is just for showing off.

It will auto-downshift to avoid stalls, so you all you need to watch is upshifting to avoid hitting the rev limiter. It will also prevent you from downshifting into redline.

I find that if know I'm slowing down shortly, I'll keep it in a lower gear, where in the same situation, the AT will upshift and then back down again. The SS also good for keeping in the engine near the torque peak when you are about to accelerate, without needing to mash the gas to prompt a downshift.
Back to the original question, also learn to feel when the torque converter locks, and you can shift accordingly to prevent locking (for smoother power) or prompt the lock (for better fuel economy).

In higher gears, the engine drops by about 500 rpm (as the road speed and gear remain constant). It feels like a mild upshift. It normally happens as you let off the throttle after acceleration. One way to really feel it is to drive around in 1st, the car lurches quite a bit as the TC locks and unlocks.
